Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Ford Mondeo 2019

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid barrier
- an offset frontal impact test, 40% of the width of the car is striking a deformable barrier
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking systems (car to car, with a pedestrian and a cyclist target), lane support and speed assist technologies and seatbelt reminders.

For anyone saying that the pole test was bad, the website actually states that it did well in a lateral impact from a pole

Impact wise it may got a reasonable grade. But structural integrity wise it obviously can’t

US station wagons are pretty much dead in the US for a longer time. You guys over there keep on buying all these SUVs and trucks. And there were some great stations over decades made by Ford, Mercury, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Dodge and so on. Even the last version of the Dodge Magnum Station was an adorable car, but it did not succeed by the number of sales.

It may look nasty from the outside, but as you can see the dummy hardly moves, you see the airbag in the right place. Just came back from the fiat panda vid and thought how safe it was compared to cars from 10-15 yrs ago. But this is tank

it has 96% of adult safety and it gained all points on the side pole crash testand side car crash test. It literally coudn´t crash better with the pole ;-)

The Octavia does look less damaged but it is a lighter car. The Mondeo is a good bit heavier than the superb too. The car being more ridged may not always pay. Off if less force is absorbed. All probably pretty safe cars compared too most stuff on the roads
