Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Kia Niro 2022

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

What trim and engine is being tested here? This car looks really solid in comparison to many others on the market. Problem is the different trims and configs with battery weight and safety packs which I believe were standard with Kia across all models except automatic braking

The first tests are all Niro EV's. Because they have a front chargeport and rims that are specific for the Niro EV. The driving tests are mixed HEV's and EV's. And they are all at a lower trim, as you can tell by the Halogen Headlights (Projector type)

The basic edition does not have the advanced driving assist and safety features, like the mid and top editions do. Hence, the lower rating I suppose.

I have a 2024 Niro and after just 3 mo and a hail storm. It's covered in dents and the paint is peeling:/..meanwhile my 2 toyotas sat in same storm and not 1 problem. Nothing but regrets with this car..smh

Well it works fantastically as an EV it is one of the MOST efficient EVs available, even bespoke EV platforms vehicles aren't beating its efficiency. The fact speak for themselves.
