Euro NCAP

4 жыл бұрын

More information on our Best in Class awards www.euroncap.c... or www.euroncap.c...
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid barrier
- an offset frontal impact test, 40% of the width of the car is striking a deformable barrier
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking systems (car to car, with a pedestrian and a cyclist target), lane support and speed assist technologies and seatbelt reminders.

A real bisexual petrol-head it was a joke I do expect the Tesla probably will come out in Europe and of course it will come with side mirrors the prototype is driffrent from the soon production the truck they showed didn’t had turn signals I expect the production model will have also the break light maybe at top and sides look it was a joke and the production will look more complete and more street legal. Also hopefully the production cybertruck has camera side mirrors in the Europe witch by the way is street legal because in Europe cars like the Audi E toon have side mirrors as cameras and screens witch in the us they have regular like most cars

It doesn't need to deploy nobody is there. Some cars have an advanced airbag. There's a sensor in the seat to determine if there is someone. If there something that's less then a certain weight it doesn't deploy. Because you have to disable the passenger airbag when carrying a baby seat on the passenger seat. I think it's to test if it works.

@@netgeek3010 yes highest in the NHSTA, who don't even conduct an offset test. While scoring high, Tesla's vehicles are certainly not the safest vehicles. For example the Mazda CX-30 scored 99% in adult occupant protection when tested by Euro NCAP. The Tesla model S only scored 82% when it was tested - certainly far from the best. And the model S also failed to achieve a 'good' rating in the IIHS (a much more reputable agency)'s small overlap test, and the model 3 didn't perform the best either, which considerable footwell intrusion. In fact in a statement, the IIHS said that the model 3 was *not* the safest vehicle (I've provided the article). In addition, in the roof strength test, while scoring good other cars have been to shown to have stronger rules. Don't just go off one source. As I stated before, Tesla make incredibly safe vehicles, but it is a misconception that they are the safest in the world. Does anyone know: What are the settings in these avoided crashes with pedestrians? I mean... Is it only in Autopilot when the driver is just holding his wheel and his feet are not on the pedal ... or is it also working when the driver is driving by himself, maybe even accelerating at the time? Or the same question, asked differently: Is it possible to drive into someone on purpose or would the tesla stop him? (That would be awesome!)
@litshackblink
@litshackblink 4 жыл бұрын
You can override the Autopilot speed reductions, it'll fight you though, until you disengage it by hitting the brake pedal. But pressing the accelerator will force it to speed up. There is an "accidental acceleration avoidance" safety switch that tries to prevent you from hurtling into solid objects.

Every point that you brought up is false though.. The kid got protected by the side airbag, and you can't see his head bouncing off the window airbag which means it absorbed most of it. For the kid crossing the road, it got hit at 18 km/h which is perfectly acceptable and not nearly as dangerous as a 30 km/h hit. I'd only agree with the pillar flying off but here it went in front of the driver, it didnt hit him. Still 5 stars.

Just imagine how much better these vehicles could be, if their creator was able to focus on making the vehicles we use here on Earth (where we all live). All of the things that vehicles at this price point shouldn’t be plagued with, like poor fitment of exterior and interior components, and overall quality control issues. Then he could get rid of all the superfluous gimmicks that only serve as distractions to the bigger issues that could be addressed and resolved in the here and now.

@Eat Jat Okay, but with that kind of thinking it's probably safer to drive a semi than this Tesla, even if they were to receive lower score. Size matters, of course. The planet is also round. Personally I find it equally, if not more impressive to achieve that high of a score in a *much* cheaper vehicle than that of the Model X.

98% adult occupant crash rating... child crash testing 95,4% (the overall child section only marked down meaningfully for not having Isofix mounts for child seats in all seats - but most cars get marked down for that), and tying the Model 3's record-setting crash avoidance scores... superbly done! The only real place to improve is pedestrian safety. They get superb marks for crash avoidance, but only so-so scores for mitigating injury to pedestrians if they are hit.
