Es ist eine Freude, zu hören und sehen, wie Barenboim diese freundliche und virtuose Sonate interpretiert.

You are right when saying that music is the way of your life. Fantastic

Amazing!!! He shows perfectly how great architect Beethoven was.

And the video show how much the Young Barenboim understood Beethovens works, and how much he loved them - his affection for what he plays shines through in a way seldom seen. (Perhaps that is why the young Barenboim made himself such a great carreer and had so many afficionados) ❤

So beautiful! I absolutely love it! Why does it have so (relatively) few views though?

Unbelieable really, there must be something wrong with the Google KZbin algorithms. ❤ This sonata was a favourite of Chopin's, note the succession of movements is like Chopin's sonatas: Main Allegro, Scherzo, Slow Mvmt, Finale Presto

An inspired and inspiring performance of this very colourful sonata. I don't think it so hard to imagine why it is nicknamed The Hunt as the 4th movement describes a traditional fox-hunt to perfection, though I doubt the name has any more authenticity than the variety of names ascribed to many of Chopin's Etudes by pianists and audiences alike, simply because it is so easy to identify a piece in this way. I love the Scherzo the best, (but prefer the staccato commentary in the left hand to compete a little more equally in dynamic with the legato chords of the main theme as they are so wonderfully contrasted with each other.) Also in the Minuet while its cantabile theme is perfectly beautiful, I think the Trio lets if down a bit (I'm complaining here to Beety rather than Daniel,) I don't much like the dislocated chords nor the unison stabbed octaves that follow them. The Presto however, is impossible to pick holes in for sheer dash and panache! Very exciting!!

Very interesting insight! Personally I find the scherzo, the best part of this work.
