I have a soft spot for delta wing fighters with frontal canards. They just look cool and the Eurofighter is my narrowly preferred pick over the Rafale (even if I think the Rafale definitely looks slick). I'm definitely partial to the hometown team (American jets) but can't deny how cool the Eurofighter is

I love how the Eurofighter turned out! I believe I was one of the first people asking for it and I couldn‘t be happier now that it‘s finally out! Also to answer your question I believe during a Red Flag military exercise in Alaska a German Luftwaffe Eurofighter actually defeated a F-22 in a dogfight.

yes, the Eurofighter is much more agile so it depends on the Situation who would win. It also depends on the Version of the Eurofighter. A Tranche 1 Eurofighter is far behind a Tranche 3+ (some already call them Tranche 4 but that is not official yet).

@@thesirmaddog8209 except that isnt the case . With the ECM systems the f22 will still have to get only just BVR to get a sensor lock . It would also have to switch from passive to active modes to search and track the EF2000 . The information from an AWACS not being accurate for a lock . With closing rates at mach 2+ that 30 mile will quickly become guns or IR missile battle quickly . The advance IR and TV tracking systems of the EF2000 would also help to reduce the effectiveness of the F22 radar stealth . So effectively both aircraft would enter a blind intercept of eachother so pilot skill will be the determining factor in an engagements outcome .

The Eurofighter's performance is generally superior to the Rafale's. A Rafale pilot recently defeated an F-22 pilot in a real-life training dogfight exercise. That being said, the Eurofigher could obviously do the same (if not better, if the quality of the pilot were comparable). The F-22 does, however, have advantages such as being stealthier and having longer range when supercruise is used. That should give the F-22 the advantage in BVR combat.

Love the different weapons loadouts it's a first in a video of this type good job on that. It is a great fighter plane and huge weapons loadout a great defence system and it has alot of them. I am from the UK but my best jet is the f18 and my best helicopter is the apache.

Amazing video brother! Just discovered your channel today and subscribed immediately after seeing the F/A-18 Super Hornets for Germany video and this one. Your narration is really good. Well, just wait for one more year or a couple of months you will see the operators of Eurofighter Typhoon is going to increase by one more country hopefully, and that will be.. Bangladesh. A South-East Asian country that lies between India and Myanmar while on the far North of it is Bhutan and Nepal. Anyway, our Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) are eyeing to buy the Eurofighter Typhoon or the Dassault Rafale, but since India has them the chances for buying them is pretty low. We need a new fighter as soon as possible as our problem with Myanmar hasn’t reached a halt yet. Keep the great content up! :)

Maybe you could have specifically mentioned the - significant - AMK upgrade (in 2015?), which gave the Eurofighter a major maneuverability boost. Higher controllable alpha at low speeds (around 40 degrees or so I have been told), much higher roll rate, and improved turn rate. Thanks for some desperately needed "Eurocanards" love (including your upcoming Rafale-video in that praise). ;) And yes (Red Flag 2011) , yes and yes to your questions. :)

Recently they conducted joint trainig which resulted in the f22 scoring the most kills followed by the gripen the the eurofighter. The gripen looks to be a great plane

I believe in close-quarters dogfights this magnificent warbird can take on and defeat anything that flies (depending on pilot and tactics.). But beyond the visual range, it would fall prey to both F-22 and F-35.

@ yeah, those fairy tales again. The actual numbers aren't secret and in reality the readiness of the German planes is actually higher than in the US even though our requirements are much higher. In 2019 80 % of the Eurofighters were operational on average. That is a very very good value for a complex system. It dropped a little bit in the recent months to around 70-75 % due to corona hindering maintenance. The value would actually be even higher but tha Tranche 1 Eurofighters are slowly phased out and the remaining flight hours stretched until the arrival of the Tranche 4 Eurofighters.

The Eurofighter Typhoon's Engines are not limited to 2 X 20 000 LB = lb max thrust! But can be increased in the War Time to the 44 000 LB = lb Thrust, right !?!? To the 2 X 22 000 lb !?!? But what is for sure, those Engines' Thrust can be increased, but not sure, is the 44 000 LB = lb correct number, is that, that much !?!? But it is quite a much! Was is Exactly to the 95,7 or little bit more in kg / n or something !?? : )

I feel that the Eurofighter would get beat in beyond visual range against American 5th Gen. However, I do believe that in an up close dogfight, the Eurofighter has the upper hand. It reminds me of the F4 in the 60's. Reliance on missiles and no gun cost some lives. 5th Gen might be relying on its BVR capabilities too much, and forgetting the dogfight. Thanks for the great videos. It is nice to keep updated on the newest stuff out there, with some great videos and illustrations.

American 5th Gen planes don't have a passive IR system like PIRATE. To know where an enemy is, they have to use radar. And radar is like using a flashlight at night to hunt: you can see your prey, but it can also see you because of your flashlight. The real advantage the Eurofighter has is its integration with the Meteor missile, while is a considerable improvement on the American AMRAAM.

I am pretty sure this bird can defeat many forms of arrogance ;) mission profile matters, fleet context matters. the raptor is a fine ship... and it looks sexy as fuck, but it has much less of a loadout due to its need to keep all weapons inside its shell. The typhoon can run 3 missions for one raptor (or more?) based on the loadout capacity alone. Both are agile, the raptor hast thrust vectoring, typhoon has canards... i think both can bring a human pilot to uncontioussness with the g-forces. The airbreak on the typhoon seem to be more efficient... and it still has a gun for dogfights that probably wont happene anymore in an age of long distance stand off weapons. A "head 2 head" compatision is stupid. Against our common enemies, we would all be flying side by side. The russians are not to be understimated. They have brilliant engineers, and they have a talent for doing more with less..... Also, when it comes to pure beauty of planes, then the russians are way ahead of us all. (raptor a close 2nd.. typhoon? lol... not a contender) And the chinese are experts at stealing innovations, they will catch up fast. I hope we never see that one war that would answer all these questions.

There have been simulated fights between Eurofighters and F22s. The fights were very close. The F22 won a slightly higher percentage of them. This advantage though was caused only by the F22s superior stealth abilitys. In almost any other disciplin the Eurofighter has the advantage.

I heard that the skill and training of the pilot is just as important as the capabilities of a plane. In the Korean War the F86 Sabre and the Mig15 were very evenly matched, but we had an 11 to 1 kill ratio in our favor due to the skill and training of the pilots of both planes.

In a merger with guns I think it’s a 50/50 against any gen 5 stealth fighter, depending on the pilot skill. In a BVR the F22 will be that sniper in the dark picking everyone off.

@@Ry_TSG Going off what I know (I have a friend who is heavily involved with Typhoon) Eurofighter can sustain 9+G turns indefinitely without running out of energy, the same can't be said for the Raptor. The Typhoon is one of, if not the best rate fighters on the planet. In a dogfight, and this has happened at red flag, the Typhoon can often beat the Raptor due to far greater energy retention. It can effectively tire the Raptor out and force it to have to recoup energy leading to a Typhoon win.

Can a Typhoon defeat a F-22? Answer is, yes it can, but pilot input is going to be a major part. A few things people need to know about the Typhoon not mentioned in this video. First, the Typhoon is simply more maneuverable, it's most likely the most maneuverable fighter in service today. It's considered a 4.5 generation fighter only because it's not a stealth by design, but it is one of the most advanced fighters today. It is the only fighter that can sustain 9.5G's at supersonic speed until it runs out of fuel, all Typhoon pilots fly with a flight suit designed for this very purpose, no other fighter including the F-22 can do this. The F-22 loses a fair amount of energy when turning very tight, the Typhoon keeps going, it will out turn and out run a F-22, this was demonstrated at a Red Flag exercise several years ago by Luftwaffe pilots who scored kills against the F-22 leading one pilot to proclaim that he had a F-22 salad yesterday. WVR, the F-22 has no chance against a capable Typhoon pilot. The Typhoon's IRST is capable of detecting the F-22 50 km away. The Typhoon's defensive weapons system is integrated with it's offensive weapons system, if target a Typhoon, even in stealth mode, it will know where you are and can fire on the targeting source. The Typhoon comes with a Hemet mounted display that allows it to perform High Off Bore firing, the F-22 does not come with this.

I don't think, that the Typhoon's IRST can detect the F 22 from 50 km away if at all, I hope so, but I doubt that! At least the Typhoon couldn't see the RAPTOR at all or not soon enough, when it was all too late and F 22 won the day! But the F 22 can't keep up with the Typhoon, when It is = the F 22 is flying behind the TYPHOON = Typhoon! ; /

The typhoon is a very good jet one of the best fighter in the sky. The typhoon can hold its own when facing US 4+/4.5 gen fighter jets. I go typhoons over f15. The typhoon will also give a good run for 5th gen at close range

Years ago two F-15 encountered an Eurofighter Two-seater Trainer above Germany and suggested they would simulate an attack. The Eurofighter easily manovered itself behind both F-15 and "won" the fight.

The Euro fighter has been proven to be vulnerable for electronic attacks. So one can say that their E-warfare capacity needs an update. I sugest they by SAABS system.
