Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Lexus RX 2022

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways
- a far-side impact test, the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated by two dummies in the front.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

@Biel Mèlich Artés You are right, but in some regions all these safety features are standard, and in other regions, you need to pay for the highest trim and still you get the older version of it with some features missing

Yep - exactly my thoughts. At least in these scenarios it's a pretty useless airbag. Didn't really catch the passenger in the side impact nor the driver in the pole impact.

It’s not meant to catch the head. It’s just meant to prevent both occupant heads from coming in contact.

@@chrisak49 ..... that (which it did), AND ideally to reduce the angle of the cervical spine in an side impact (which it didn't). That's the reason why it deploys even if there's no passenger.

No comprendo como han suprimido en este modelo los airbags laterales de torax traseros y que le regalen las 5 estrellas, esto es criminal ,odio a los maniquies de la familia Dummy, no tendria que existir el volver hacia atras, esto parece de 1974, es vergonzoso, estos airbags tendrian que ser obligatorios para obtener las 5 estrellas, lo hacen de cualquier manera, parece que no piensen antes de hacer las cosas y ponen en los laterales de los asientos traseros etiquetas para de lejos ver que tiene airbags y es otra cosa, parece que lo hagan expresamente todo para despistar.
