Hologram technology gives a modern twist to French elections

It has been a weekend for rallies for most of the candidates with an eye on the French presidency. On the far-left Jean-Luc Melenchon surprised his supporters by appearing live in Lyon while materialising at the same time in Paris in the form of a hologram.
It was a modern twist as Melenchon tries to appeal to voters disillusioned with main stream parties.

This is not a hologram, just a 2D Image, it is projected onto a Screen on the floor and reflected onto a foil stretched at an angle to the audience. The original 19th Century Peppers Ghost Illusion was however 3D:) but with real actors hidden from view!
