Hahaha you actually never really know which train model you'll get on PKP, a new and clean one or an old and dirty one. And tbh, PKP is always delayed along the south-western corridor between Krakow and Wrocław because of tech difficulties and busy tracks. It's definitely much cheaper than many European railways though! Every time I've taken a train along this corridor from Kraków (to Berlin, to Poznań or even just to Katowice), there have always been delays :(

When travelling in Poland, I never skip a meal in WARS restaurant car. I rather skip a lunch in the city and eat it later on train. :) Yes, it is probably the best dining car in Europe, though closely followed by Czech JLV. While your train was entirely made of rebuilt old coaches (I already posted a comment about them in one of the replies), at 18:33 you actually filmed the most modern Polish dining car, the brand new 407A type of H. Cegielski Poznan.

I prefer them too, but the open saloon coaches in this train (filmed at about 11:40) are actually very bad. They "sparely rebuilt" older cars into these open coaches, so they still have original bogies with the old "block" brakes (Klotzbremsen, in German) instead of normal disc brakes. So the undercarriage is unbearably loud, especially when braking. On the compartment coaches, they luckily changed the bogies.
@mancubwwa2 жыл бұрын
yes you need a reservation. However they will sell you "ticket without guarantee of a seat" if you are late. it's 50/50 if you would be able to get a seat on part or all of the journey or is it standing/folding seat in the corridor. On loco hauled trains you do not need reservation with weekend or monthly tickets though, and cheepest weekend tickets are a total bargain, coming below 20 EURfor unlimited travel on IC and TLK trains (second class seats only) from 7 PM on friday till 7 AM monday. And reservations for these tickets even on trains that require those flipped between free and costing 1 zloty (around 0.23 EUR) in the last few months, I belive they're free now. Tivkets are checked onboard on all trains in poland, except couchettes and sleeping cars, where you need to show them before boarding. And except for those, you don't need to print online tickets bought via intercity.pl, just show them on your phone/tablet.

This station is very interesting and unique. In terms of the annual number of passengers served, Wrocław Główny is the largest railway station in Poland. The station was opened in 1857. At that time, it was one of the largest facilities of this type in Europe. Despite being very old, it still serves its purpose perfectly.The building and the main hall, which at the beginning served as a platform hall, come from this period. Trains ran there at ground level back then.It was extended in the years 1899-1904. The present platform hall dates from this period.

Excellent and comprehensive presentation with a good review of the Second Class compartment seating. The PKP Restaurant Car looked functional with pleasantly presented meals, but table cloths, cutlery and wine glasses would add a little more sophistication and perhaps be attractive to a wider clientele. How was the on-board staff service? Again, thank you for this professional review of a PKP InterCity cross-country service.

Way back in about 2008 I took my fiancée to visit an aunt in Gydnia. From there we took an overnight sleeper to Krakov and that was an experience. I think it was called the Aurelia express. The carriages were quite old and probably date back to the Soviet times as the moment we stepped on board we noticed a huge furnace in each carriage that was kept alight with coal. You could see the flames very well when its door was open. That kept all the compartments snug and warm in the depths of winter. What spoiled the journey for us was a group of six construction workers in the adjacent compartment, equipped with carrier bags of beer and vodka. The parting went on until about 2.30am and was not helped by the very thin walls between each compartment. From memory we left Gydnia around 10.50pm and arrived in Krakov lunchtime the next day. PS. When we woke up the following morning all the workmen had already got off somewhere. I later found out that from the whole carriage our and next door were the only occupied ones. Would have loved to have moved but we had settled down for the night.

I've been to Wrocław as well, along with PKP intercity 2 times. (Went to Wrocław with a car, PKP intercity for 2 days, between Elbląg > Zakopane, at first trip being first class, then Zakopane > Elbląg, second trip being second class. I'd say the first class is really good, worth it. Never visited the dining car, my parents had food already prepared, such as wieners. The scenery was insanely good! (The train went from Malbork to Zakopane if you were curious, and it was a EP07.) The best places in Wrocław in my opinion are: 1. Old Town, yes of course! The Old Town is definitely worth visiting! It has a lot of restaurants, shops, and many more. 2. The Zoo, it's stunning, it may be really busy and long waiting line, but it's worth it! Especially the "Afrykarium", also know as Wrocław Africarium, and the "Motylarnia", also know as Butterfly House. (I do not know if it's actually called Butterfly Museum in English, but please correct me if so!) 3. Hydropolis, the explanation it does for some stuff, is really amazing. Wrocław is definitely worth a visit if you're planning a trip to Poland.

@@NonstopEurotrip I'm glad you replied. Thank you ! What part of UK are you from? London? Hastings? Liverpool? More foreigners say Poland is becoming a better, SAFER and stronger country because Polish people and their government is NOT allowing massive immigration of people with different than Polish background, religion and tradition that are not willing to assimilate and accept our laws and our way of life. Mixing water with fire is impossible & dangerous. We accept all non-Polish people who love our country and are willing to blend in and/or assimilate, WORK (support themselves not by government social programs) and learn our language. Unfortunately UK made big mistake by accepting people from different countries and religions who DON'T want to assimilate. UK is drastically changing for worse. That's how I see it from the USA where I live since 1981. I am ex-Wroclaw citizen. I wish you all the best and please make more films in Poland. In advance, THANK YOU and DZIEKUJE !!!

Very interesting channel I think I will leave you a subscription You know in Poland we have such a national trait that we often complain about the reality around us but I think it may have a good side because through a critical approach you can want to improve many issues but I did not expect that in the comments under your movies from Poland I will see so many positive comments some things we don't notice unless we see them from a different perspective greetings from Katowice thank you for the interesting video 🙂👍

@@NonstopEurotrip We traveled from Szczecin to Cracow then on to Warsaw saying in each city for three nights in hostels very cheaply.for only £3-50 a night including breakfast.(bread rolls,cheese and cooked meats) It took 11 hours to travel from Warsaw to Szczecin by train without a buffet car or any refreshments on the train.It was a good job we bought some food to take with us when we left Warsaw. But when we returned to Szczecin our host got us something to eat,but we didn't feel like eating because we where tired from traveling.Polish trains have electric locomotives to pull them.they look like the old Russian style locomotives from the 1960s.The first train we traveled on had only two carriages.But Polish trains a few years ago had very awkward steps to get on or off the carriage.but now PKP railway are making new trains.

Sometimes I hate polish railway for being so late a lot and so often. The thing is when you compare the price and the quality of the food on Wars restaurants cars is extremly the best in Europe. Always fresh made. Next time for a breakfast polish food with jajecznica, for a lunch żurek and schabowy. For a dinner you know what ;)
