They say they are slower than a cat D11 but they can push more

John McLauren. Yes, they are more powerful than the Cat D11 and their exhaust emmision are practically nil compared to any Cat Engine.

nice piece of kit, wouldn't mind an hour or two running her, that silica's gonna cause some wear though

Whenever I see a video like this, I always ask why? Why are they doing this work? What is the end product? It must cost a small fortune to own and operate this machine. How is it making money? Ripping, pushing and piling sand into a large mound for....what? Is it just removing overburden to get at some valuable resource? Are they mining and refining silica sand? I wish I knew...
@AwesomeEarthmovers4 жыл бұрын
The dozer is used to break up the extremely hard silica sand deposits and push them into stockpiles. An excavator and ADT’s then take it to the processing area of the quarry and it will eventually become glass as well as numerous other products.

@@AwesomeEarthmovers Awesome. That makes sense now. Thanks for the reply.

Hi guys do they make anything out of the silica sand or is by product
@JUSTINATV6 жыл бұрын
Silica sand is used in a lot of things. It is natural from the Earth. I work for a silica company here in the USA. I haul high iron silica sand used for making glass. And we also have 5-7 different types/grades of silica sand used for different things.

I find it hard to believe that a cat D11 would have any problem ripping and pushing this stuff and the cat will always outlast the D475.

Komatsu stuff is generally very tough reliable outfits plus this unit is more in the D10 class dozer were it's quite competitive, plus ur right that D11 cat is a brute but try comparing it to Komatsu 575 bulldozer,! Good luck with that my friend, cheers

Both machines are of good quality, but the edge will always be cat, ever since they elevated the final drives to have a more centred balance, and making the major components on thier own, so if one goes out, it makes it easy and faster to take the damaged one out and put new or certified rebuilt in with minimal down time. Faster fixes and maintenance, means machines have less down time, equating to more profits. And is that operator that good,???. A good operator when pushing heavy loads will make slots to be able to push the utmost maximum, with watching for track slippage, and use the deexcelarator pedal to slow the tracks to where then the operator can use the weight of the machine and tourqe converter to let up on the deexcelarator pedal and let the mentioned ways, and keep pushing, it doesn't matter how big the machine is, spin the tracks, it isn't going anywhere and cause more wear on the tracks.

You should say.... "Japans Largest Dozer pushing silica sand in Europe" as its not Europes largest Dozer.

A one off custom built machine that never turned a clod of dirt isn't in the conversation. It is the largest dozer in Europe.
