Nice memories! My wife and I traveled from Vilnius to Riga in 2019 in a completely empty Luxexpress VIP class (back of the bus). At the same time, the front of the bus was occupied. I bought tickets 10 minutes before departure, a regular class cost 21 euros, and VIP - 28. I decided that this was a new opportunity :) I even did exercises there, warmed up by jumping :) With love for Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from Belarus!

I want to “defend” the coach station a bit. The reason why the station is in this half-finished state is because of the ongoing RailBaltica construction. That is the reason there are excavations on every step. The platforms along with shelter roofs used to be on the side you walked outside but now will be replaced with viaduct for high-speed train traffic. And the station building is a good example of soviet modern architecture.

It's true, but it's still incredibly sad to see some of the most presentable buildings in our capital (except the airport, which is excellent, the rest - Port, train station and bus station) almost haven't changed since the soviet days. So many buildings have been renovated and now look European and presentable (which is great), but for some reason these buildings are left with nothing.

While boarding, the gent in front of me explained that his travel friend was ill and had to stay longer in Tallinn, so he gave me his luxury seat. The area behind the curtain was 1 to 1 seats and they were like dentist chairs and reclined. They had had small storage areas for smaller bags, and counter space for devices and the free coffees from the machine on the bus. It had a larger than coach, adjustable screen to watch many channels and movies, but I preferred to enjoy the beautiful scenery during the five-hour ride.

Indeed the view is better in the front, and the ride is smoother.... But, in the back of the bus there's more privacy. Like on airplanes, where the business class seats are in the front of the plane, every person boarding the plane (or bus) needs to go past me, in a narrow environment. I'd rather not have hundreds of people squeeze by my face and touch my backrest or me, especially during the pandemic.

It definitely does not look government, commercial or metro city bus grade, but like a nice vehicle to be seen in and ride in. From the small number of passengers on this bus, do these buses operate with any type of government funding in order to cover the costs of running these routes so lightly loaded? depends probably why you're travelling, and how much luggage you take. Cheap airfaires are generally without luggage, and fees for that can quickly rise higher than the original airfare.
