I really like your talent of making videos. The cuts at the right time to not have anything boring or too long, the mixture of perspectives (holding camera/drone/drive by), the choices of musics to create certain feelings, showing others and not just yourself (like those people on the boat), the ideas on how to present it (for example showing the alarm ring and then camera outside as if u were waking up - sure someone had to put the cam there to make it look like that). The lenghts of the video and it all fits to your nice, calm characters. I see you are putting in a lot of effort! SO nice to watch.

Grappig he. Fijne reis weer verder. Well, I'm a bit late I guess, but that has it's reasons. First of all I want to wish you both good luck on your ongoïng journey for 2019! I hope it will be as good, not to mention better than in the past year!! By watching this video, memories of Turkey, with your mother Eric, came floating above from my memories with the feeling that we had the same experiences about the common people there. Heartwarming and very hospitable most of the time. Yeas it's different when you come as a holiday tourist, but we had also some of these experiences with suchs nice people that you never will and can forget! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful video's and edits from the journey, I love every second of it! Especially this one from Turkey, from which I have my own memories. Your video's and edeting is getting better and better and reaches a nearly "professional" level! Also the music from Roelant in the right places of the edits makes a very nice mood on these! The drone shots are breathtaking and it's a pity you had to send it back to home, I would have seen more from it!! I even didn't know you had one with you! I know that you guys are in Iran now and I'm sure you will encounter the same hospitality there among the people. Continue your journey with pride and joy, and fill your brains with memories we all could be jealous of. And please, don't stop sharing this with us all here on KZbin! Until the next time, big hug from Alkmaar, Holland and Heist, Belgium.... The "old one"...

I am very likely going to do a series about expeditionary cycling. As this video shows, one needs to be able to pull off and rest. My thing is also survivalism. When needing to pull of and take a rest, it is imperative to be clandestine. So that once you pull away, NO ONE knows where you are. Having spent my time doing this, I have found myself in woods where people are shooting (in the US). This is quite scary, but if you just lay down, your chance of catching a bullet is minimal. This is not fun, but mostly when you pull off into the woods, it's just peaceful and fantastic.
@WheelstoWander3 жыл бұрын
It's certainly wise to make sure nobody sees you when scouting for a campsite. If somebody does see us we mostly ask if it's okay, or if they know a good camp location. Sounds scary! But as you said, mostly so beautiful and tranquil, one of our favourite things! :-)

Incredible hospitality....great footage even very moving cause of the kindness of people. The landscape too is amazing. The shooting was scary....smashing dishes on a greek wedding is less scary. Where can I find some information about your bikes? Both are koga myata?

I'd like to tour Turkey with cycle but am afraid of dogs in general. How was dogs in Turkey? Were they free to attack etc?
@WheelstoWander4 жыл бұрын
Turkey is one of our favourite countries for cycling. There are quite some dogs around that can be nasty. Some of them run free and can be scary. Our method was: arm from high to pointing at the dog (like throwing a stone) with a strong HEEE! often the dog stops... if not stop yourself and use the bike as shield and walk slowly until you can mount again... Many more tips on google!

As this is renown to give you a headache haha. Keep it up guys, your doing great!

Hi Ben! These applications always have a uncertainty about them. So far so good for us but we hear from other people that they got rejected. To implement a helpful piece of info will probably be to long winded. Maybe an idea for a separate video if more people would be interested! Thanks!!

Wow, it's realy brafe of you! For me it is yet still a dream for my future. How is your trip going? Did you do it?
@mwj53684 жыл бұрын
Great! I admire you folks very much! I also like how you show the local people too and your interacting with them! That's what I hope to do on part of my world journey! I think once in a while I travel by bike and pull my two wheeled cart I hope to buy. It attaches to the hips and puts as much as 95% of the load on the wheels and you can walk and pull it. I'll also be able to adapt it to attach to the seat post of a bike and pull it by bike. Maybe it's a foolish question but... would pulling a small trailer like that actually be better than having travel bags around your front and back bike wheels, like you do? I don't know the physics of that, or how such an arrangement would be better or not. I suppose if it was better more bike travellers would be doing it. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any advice. Thanks for your exciting adventures, "Wheels to Wander"!
@WheelstoWander4 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! That sounds like a fantastic adventure brewing :) We love our panniers (bike bags) very convenient storage/organising. Also we like that they give some extra stability. We have no experience with trailers. Perhaps the following link can help: www.cyclingabout.com/best-bike-trailers-bicycle-touring/ If you have the trailer to setup with a bike and also to walk with, panniers wouldn't be a necessary extra! Best of Luck!!

@WheelstoWander5 жыл бұрын
Hi Funn! We have not yet crossed those borders, also we are not natives from India. Different rules apply for different countries. We suggest you find a dedicated (e)visa site for each country and see what requirement are necessary for you as a person from India. It is some work but it will pay off. It is handy to make a document with all the links and requirements so you can read it offline while you are cycling from country to country. Good Luck and lots of fun preparing!
