+Ezra Isaacs 'En' is used with feminine countries (en France, en Italie, etc.) and 'au' with masculine countries (au Brésil, au Canada, etc. - oh, masculine countries that start with a vowel or an 'h' use 'en' too). 'Aux' is used with plural countries (aux États-Unis, aux Maldives, aux Pays-Bas, etc.) 'À' is used for 'most' cities. Like everything else, there are some exceptions ('dans' for some American states, for example).
