I cannot imagine the system redundancy needed to survive on the moon in case the of failures. On the other hand the ISS is doing quite fine.

The only Problem is, that you can get to the Iss in only about a Day, but it takes nearly a Week to go to the Moon
@unhommequicourt4 жыл бұрын
I don t think it s that different. If you put the iss on the moon you can basically survive. Only problem is that the moon is really far away and you cant send a space station that big there, and it s complicated to go back

2:40 Eujene Cernan was the last one of the moon not Harison Schmidt, because he was the commander and had to ingress last.
@MrGlenspace4 жыл бұрын
Hicham Mohsen in fact he left his daughters initials in the lunar dust before re-entering the lunar module. However, Schmidt is last living lunar astronaut who got to stay the longest. Plus he was only scientist being a geologist and eventual US Senator from New Mexico.

@@MrGlenspace In December 1972, as one of the crew on board Apollo 17, Schmitt became the first member of NASA's first scientist-astronaut group to fly in space. As Apollo 17 was the last of the Apollo missions, he also became the twelfth and second-youngest person to set foot on the Moon and the second-to-last person to step off of the Moon (he boarded the Lunar Module shortly before commander Eugene Cernan) So yeah he wasn't last like i said.

Hicham Mohsen yes I know all about that. My cousin worked at Grumman and helped build the lunar module. He would send me photos of the craft, official mission patches and signed photos of the Astronauts. I still have that stuff today. My cousin went on to build the shuttle wings at Grumman. He even sent me cool photos he took of them and informational stuff. At 95 He is happy to see us going forward but wishes things were going faster.

Very interesting. The lava tubes on the moon would be ideal places for habitation as they would offer a more stable temperature as well as protection from radiation and meteorites. They are probably dust-free too. A good place to stay in case of a coronal mass ejection since you wouldn't have time to get back to Earth.

Why on earth, our planet earth have everything for suitable life namely, as an example, the Iron core which have many benefits, the atmosphere, oxygen, nitrogen, and co2 which are essnial for life. The moon is not that far away from planet earth, why the hell have not got all the essential ingredients? Is there somebody design the earth to be perfect for life?

One day if we settle on the moon the human body could evolve to survive on the moon. Especially with progress made in genetics
@mlc44954 жыл бұрын
No, life evolved to survive in this planet's environment, not the other way around. It's quite possible there is life on other planets that would find it impossible to survive on Earth.
