So sick! It's killer John's faithful to the studio recorded Lynch solo's (holy fk!), while George improv's the sht out of every solo! What an absolute score it is to have both IMO.

Lynch is not near level of norum
@aimfuldrifter26 күн бұрын
He actually did a great job trying to imitate Lynch but also played his licks. I didn't know he's played there and he did so well! That was a different style than Europe had, heavier and George's playing is different but he's adapted very well. :)

Oh yes, i just noticed that. the love aint no stranger solo i think. that sykes did. And he did that other version live a little diffrent that the original version of the solo on the record. He played it a slight bit differently live

I love how John just nailed the "Erase The Slate" solo, but with his own tone. It's one of my favorite Dokken songs, and I always thought Reb's solo on that song was killer but wasn't a big fan of his tone. No disrespect to Reb, but I think I actually like it even better this way.

Too bad we couldn't get more of this type of soloing on the Long Way Home studio album, but that's on the producer and Don with their song selection and the general direction that they wanted to take with that album.

John blew away Reb's version of Erase the slate solo. I like Reb. But I do not like Reb's tone especially on the Dokken album. Norum's tone is sweet.

Norum is basically a guarantee for a good tone. 🙂 There's a clip of him warming up on a small, cheap practice amp backstage. And he still sounds awesome.
