To the doubters. Race organizers don't like the result of a three-week grand tour event being decided before the third week even starts. They want competition and rivalry to bring in the views and the advertising $$$. If they could bust Pog and open up the field they absolutely would. That they haven't done so-ever-shows that he is as clean as they are able to (or allowed to) test for. Top teams like Ineos, Visma, and UAE (like Sky before them) have the budget to obtain and develop the same supplements, technology, and other advantages for their riders. If anyone stands out among the top riders it's a result of skill and ability, not any special enhancements they have that the others do not. The top GC riders of the past decade have been on equal footing when it comes to anything other than their own innate talent. The domination of Rog, Ving, and Pog over the past few years is not because they are doping and everyone else is clean. So relax and enjoy the show. There's no need to look for clouds on a sunny day.

You don’t come within a whisker of beating arguably the best tester in the world ( Ganna) and you don’t take off from a chase group with 7km to go, Leaving all the GC contenders looking like they are stood still and close 3 mins in 5km on Quintana, who had diamonds in his legs, and you don’t even look out of breath. So fed up with all the "juicing" comments. A 'guilty to proven innocent' attitude wouldn't be acceptable if you were on a jury, so I don't see why it should apply to watching road cycling, either. When athletes in other disciplines put in outstanding performances, they're not subjected to the same level of doping accusations. Regardless of the history, it seems so unreasonable that the likes of Pogacar and Vingegaard should be treated like this. Until there is evidence that an athlete has cheated, I'm more than happy to just enjoy their performance.

@unbound1958 ай бұрын
That would be because road cycling is extremely tougher than all other sports. And in every other sport, at every level, the ones in the top are constantly winning and losing, with a good switch up, like normal. And the new best performances we are seeing are overall "normal", for their sport. But this, this is simply not possible. 6,7 watts/kg for 10+ mins all year on every climb, numbers that no top can achieve even for a day, are simply impossibile. Mind that with 6,7 watts/kg you lose 3mins in the Tour de France. Vingegaard last year did 7,5 for 10+ minutes on a Time Trial bike, always in the aerodynamic stance. This the equivalent of sprinting 100mts in 8 seconds. It's the equivalent of a marathon in 1h 20mins. Even if you sum up all the so called "marginal gains", these 7 best riders in the world are leagues better than the EPO generation. By a landslide.
