Stad I Ljus is still my favourite Eurovision song of all time. Every time I listen to it the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

The UK and Switzerland really deserved to fight to the end, they both can be placed very high on anyone's top. But Sweden, Luxembourg, Norway and Denmark stick out as the masterpieces of this contest. Same for Israel and France.

My favourite Swedish entry ever and still one of my favourite entries in general. My other favourite that year was Luxembourg and I had a big soft spot for Italy. Didn’t like the winner at all.

Ok I'll be totally honest that I hadn't listened to that song until just now to answer this question. It's not a bad song it has some interesting elements. I can't really give a proper placing after just one listen but I'd guess around 10th.

This used to be my least favourite Eurovision year of the 80's but has since grown a lot on me. It's crazy to think Switzerland only won at the final gong, now it's so hard to imagine a timeline where Céline didn't win. Just like it's now amazing to see her and Lara at Eurovision, knowing how incredibly succesful they had become. Portugal's backupsingers were British, and one of them was backup singer to Sade and it really shows that they didn't know the language.

21- It is catchy, nothing else 20- Quite overrated 19- I like this Mother-Daughter duo. It's a sweet song 18- ZZZ, awful vocals 17- Extremely Spanish and great 16- Am I the only one who likes this? 15- Pretty disappointing from Ireland 14- It's alright, I like his voice 13- Hugely underrated from Finland 12- I really enjoyed this 11- It's child's play, annoying as hell 10- I think these guys are amazing 9- My favourite, this bit is the best bit of the song although it's all amazing 8- Heavily underrated song 7- I like it. It's a catchy song and Gérard has a great voice 6- It's a sweet song. Nice voice 5- Yes it's Celine Dion and she has got a great voice but it's not my favourite 4- Beautiful from my country. Great song and wonderful voice but that result was criminal 3- A lovely song and a great singer 2- I love Hot Eyes in all their entries 1- It's a sweet song and he's got a good voice

Celine Dion was amazing and is amazing singer but the song is just not too strong in my opinion. I think apart from the opening of Eurovision 1989 that she has never performed it ever after the contest.
