You know, set aside the silly masks - I still think Lordi rightiously won that year. Although (or because?) hard rock songs are not that common to the ESC - this one was simply a good "metalled" pop song. Just listen to the background vocals in the chorus - outstanding performance there! AND I admit to being an old metalhead myself...😜👍. But I will also say that their stage performance and their silly outfits had a good part in them winning that year.
