(long post ahead! have fun reading! all of these are my opinion and i don't mean to offend anyone.) 42. awesome song, bit biased because i've been a fan of kabat since about 2013. pretty risky debut from the czechs! 41. pretty genius song if you listen to the lyrics but i do get why it's israel's worst result. 40. her vocals weren't the best, the instrumental is so catchy though! 39. i quite like this, sabrina was sick the day of the semis and that's why she may not of sounded the best. 38. the live vocals were awful, shame because the 70's theme is so good. 37. i like this song too, fredrik's vocals sound pretty good here. 36. should've qualified, super underrated song & country. 35. this song is also awful, everything sounds like they were randomly chosen to be in the track. personally my worst this year. 34. awesome folk song, didn't deserve to be last. 33. really good song, i love stevan's vocals and the track altogether. 32. guilty pleasure of mine, the vocals were midpar however the track itself is awesome and upbeat. 31. i liked this, was in my top 15 of the semis. eric sounds passionate about the song. that and the staging was pretty neat too. 30. seriously? this scored better than andorra & czech republic in your opinion? this song sounds dated and bobo's voice wasn't that great. easily my 2nd worst this year. 29. i loved this song, you could tell the ark was having fun on the stage. the song is catchy modern glam rock. 28. liked this one, dado's and iva's voices together are really strong. the instrumental is also really smooth. 27. i honestly don't remember this song that much, however the background was really nice. 26. extremely catchy song, love how paul switches between french and english. deserved higher than 22nd! 25. olivia was robbed, this is a beautiful oriental sounding song. easily my fave from the semis and very underrated. 24. one fave after the other! guri deserved to qualify. the song is and energetic. 23. i really wished that edsilia would've sang in dutch, nonetheless this song is still enjoyable to listen to. 22. this song is really unique on how it alternates between so many languages yet still sounds good! todomondo did really good that night! 21. magdi's vocals were on point, you can hear the desperation and anger in her voice. the instrumental track is slow and easy to listen to. 20. deserved a higher place than 19th, i loved how roger sang in german and english. he was vocally perfect throughout the song too. r.i.p. roger. 19. it's in my top 5 this year, the drums, the vocals being in bulgarian, and the fact that it's trance won me over. so happy europe responded to this as positively as i did! 18. this song is pretty forgettable i'm sorry to say... the backdrop is the only thing i remember from the song. 17. very beautiful song, italian is a gorgeous language and it sounded amazing here. really wish more popera songs were present in the contest! 16. much better than her brother's winning song. 22nd in the semis is a joke! gerli showed her attitude during this song. 15. hell yes! eirikur was robbed, this song was so amazing! i personally feel this one could've won the contest if it had qualified. 14. it's like bjork was georgian, very weird song but amazing! sopho's voice was extremely ethereal. 13. love how upbeat this song is, the dancing was also really good too & reminded me of sertab erener's choreography 4 years earlier. 12. meh, this song wasn't too bad but it wasn't amazing either. pretty forgettable song, which is sad to say since spain is my fave from the big 5. 11. i'm sorry but yet again, this was forgettable. the vocals are amazing but the instrumental is nothing new. i give marija props for being only 17 at the time of the show though. 10. yes! i was very impressed with this song because it's unlike i've heard come out of cyprus in this contest. really wished she would've qualified too! 9. yes! natalia really impressed here, to know she possibly couldn't of qualified is confusing to me. this sounded new in the contest. 8. one of the best girl groups in the contest, serebro were excellent this night. this song has a lot of attitude in it. really surprised with the message that this got through! 7. verka was a joke act done right, ukraine is my fave country in the contest and verka did not let me down. the song is a very upbeat polka track. 6. love this song, very upbeat song that had amazing dancing in it too. kenan's vocals were also really good. so glad europe responded positively to this one too! 5. yes! nothing but love for this song! everything was on point here, the walls were really cool the see, and this would be an amazing james bond song. really deserved to win in my opinion! 4. yes! alenka was so good! her ability to hold a note but not strain her voice is really impressive to me. the instrumental was also gorgeous. 15th in the finals is ridiculous. 3. super underrated song, macedonia has always slayed in this contest. deserved the top 10 in my opinion. i love how karolina sang in macedonian as well. 2. my female fave this year. finland i feel could've won back to back. hanna was flawless, everything was so good! 1. very beautiful balkan ballad, marija deserved her victory this year. i love the serbian language and the country. like i said before, very deserved winner!

i agree,Lordi was the main reason why there were more rock songs the later years in the contest(i think 2007 had the most?) BUT don't forget that in 2005,a year before Lordi,we had also many rock songs... (Germany,Russia,Switzerland,Norway e.t.c) so, i guess it mostly had to do with the generation;P

I love this year. Some might say there was too much rock songs. But I think it's a good approach. Some might complain about it but the same was after Rybak won, in 2010 there was so many song folk-inspiried or at least which had violin in arrangement. 2007 is very varied so much. This trend that Eurovision is so open can be counted since then. I think it's a postive sign that ESC get out from typical schlager/ballad/popfolk approach. And it's more available not only for escfans.

I understand Portugal most of all the others so i won't judge it... Bosnia and Slovakia must have their reasons too(not as important as Portugal's though) But, Turkey... withdrewing for political reasons?...this sucks...Turkey dissapointed me on this one... -_- thnx for the comment :-)
