The writer of this is the same guy, Edvard af Sillén who wrote "Love Love Peace Peace". 2:23 Yes, that was supposed to be Lisbeth Salander, the girl with the dragon tattoo,the main character in those books and movies. I recommend the Swedish originals, even if the remake isn´t bad either. 3:43 Yes, it´s really how it is. We don´t talk to strangers. Going around smiling to random people will make them think you´re drunk, insane... or a foreigner... or all of the above. We have a very large "personal bubble" compared to many other countries, and people standing to close, talking to loud or just approaching us, makes us pretty uncomfortable. Social distancing comes very natural to us. 4:03 Pippi Longstocking (or Pippi Långstrump as we call her in Swedish) is a very popular children´s book character by Astrid Lindgren. Astrid Lindgren is one of the most beloved persons in Sweden, you know you can insult our prime minister, our king or any Swedish celeb or person, and we don´t care. No one is holy. But don´t you say a bad word about Astrid Lindgren to a Swede. Ever. She wrote so many childrens books, they are basically our common childhood, and she is the grandmother of all Swedes. We even have her face on one our bills. She´s above royalty. 4:27 In Sweden we just don´t have maternity leave, but also paternity leave. Some of the parental days can only be used by the dad. 6:45 It´s a Dalahäst (Dalacarlian Horse)

I'm so glad you mentioned Edward af Sillén, he doesn't get enough credit from the international Eurovisions fans by far, according to me. Petra Mede is for sure great but Edward gives her amazing material to work with.

Damn! I had such a busy day yesterday I didn’t have time to watch this until now, when you shouted me out and everything. I'm so glad we have the amazing Åsa S to answer all of your questions about Sweden, and so thoroughly! There's really not much for me to add, but one fun fact I can provide is that Petra is choosing to mispronounce the word "Smörgåsbord" throughout the entire song. Or well, pronounce it right in English. I wish I could explain in text how it's pronounced in Swedish, but it's safe to say it's pretty different. I can explain the literal meaning of the word, though! "Smörgås" means sandwich, and "bord" is table. It's basically like a buffet featuring the greatest hits of Swedish cuisine.
