Worst results ever. Out of former USSR republics only Estonia and Lithuania came through to the final. And I wasn't even expecting Lithuania to qualify. The song is kind of boring. Especially Albania. Do they seriously think that Albania is better than Belarus? What? That's crap. Also Belgium didn't qualify? Are you bleeping kidding me? It's like THE freaking BELGIUM didn't qualify. What the hell were they thinking? They are the rulers of the Europian Union and they don't qualify? That's crazy.

I definitely agree with you - some people cannot think further at all. It's the same with Finland, we didn't qualify in 2015-17 but now we did. And still I feel that some people would prefer seeing countries like Azerbaijan getting through, countries that have qualified every single year. I'm glad for Ireland and Finland! :)

Can anybody explain me why the song from Israel is so hyped? I don't get it. I found it more of an anoying song actually. Azerbaijan, Switzerland and a couple of others where way better IMO. But I guess its Eurovision and those pseudo-messages songs "deliver" ... Glad though that Lithuania went through, it caught my attention and I somehow fell in love with this song and the way it was performed. So soft and vulnerable

I don't get it either but then again every year there is always at least 1 favorite that I really don't get why it got so high on the betting lists or fan polls. Some years that even extent to the results in the semis or the big final.

Overhyped. The clip is very professionally made, and the song has its cool moments. But I think the hype built up to such a level that it will disappoint a certain percentage of viewers. Plus: the staging is a bit too freaky with all the facial expressions, the novelty cat statuettes, and even her singing pitch was a bit off at times. I don't see this winning, even though It'll end up very high. My money is on Cyprus or Estonia, but I'm leaning more towards the former. It's just a fact, a sexy act - when delivered like Cyprus did - always sells very well.

I actually screamed of happiness when Ireland & Albania went through I was soooo happy I didn't expect it honestly! People saying it's a farce because *insert act* didn't go through. You do realise there are only 10 acts that go through out of 19? Of course some of the ones you liked didn't make it, everyone is going to be loving different songs it's so unrealistic for all 10 of your favourites to go through. Just be happy for those who did, mourn those who didn't but don't go calling the whole show a farce just because you didn't get your own way. That is all :)

Dear, I listened to Ireland song once or twice and then ignored it, I did not give it a chance, wasn't liking it, was glad thinking it won't qualify, but THENN I listened to the SEMI performance/saw it/everything and now out of the blue It's my new favorite song(in general, not this competition)...I was so happy when they said it qualified, wow, it just won me, performed some magic on me for sure!

Alright. Here is the honest truth: Belgium didn't qualify because of its staging. it was bland compared to a lot of the other acts. Nothing wrong with her song or her vocal abilities: those were on point. The staging was just ... forgettable. And this is coming from a Belgian viewer. Gotta be honest.

Come on, it is clear it didn't qualify for bad vocals of Senek. If there wouldn't be any back-vocalist in the high notes parts, Senek's performance would be much worse than it was, like in pre-parties. I guess she is still sick. :P

Actually i liked a lot the simplicity of Belgium, rest seemed like circus in comparission. And it was something sweet about the fact, that Sennek's background were pretty much the audience.

If you want it to be simple and minimalistic, then don't try to make it dynamic by walking randomlessly on stage or making very expressive faces like she did. Blanche's act was very minimalistic; she just stood there in a black dress and sang her song. And look where that ended up. Bottom line: if you want to keep things simple, don't overcomplicate them. If you want to give the viewers a visual spectacle, then go all out. But don't try to mix them. I think that's what hurt the act the most.

So happy for Albania and Ireland (I absolutely believed in both but was worried they wouldn't get enough support - but William and I were ALWAYS TEAM EUGENT), GUTTED for Belgium (as she was an original top 5 of mine from the start, but this week she just never got it right) -- Had Azerbaijan in but I can understand how she got left out -- I was NEVER Franka's biggest fan for the song but her performance tonight won me over and I thought she was IN, and I guess the lack of buzz her video was generating (wasn't near the top of the "most viewed" list that I could tell) hurt her I think in the end...will be interesting to see how close she may have been...

So sick and tired of childish comments from people. These artists were chosen to represent their country. That's why everyone deserves to go to the Grand Final and possibly win the ESC. Not everyone can go to the Grand Final or WIN but everyone deserves it when they participate in this competition. So whoever goes to the Grand Final deserves it and whoever WINS deserves it.

*Perfect* results, to be honest! I know a lot of people are really really mad, but please stop hating against other countries just because your favourite didn't make it through. We all knew this was the semifinal of death, so some good entries needed to go home. All of the qualifiers absolutely deserved it! Lithuania fantastic, Albania hell yeah super happy for him, Ireland was great too, Austria flawless! Estonia, Cyprus, Israel, Bulgaria obviously in as well :) I'm only sad about Switzerland. They had a really really strong performance :( Belarus was so shaky. FYR Macedonia had weird staging and vocals. Azerbaijan was nothing special. Croatia maybe suffered from having too little hype before the show (didn't participate at pre-parties either). I love Belgium's song, but the performance wasn't as great as the studio version. Armenia and Greece were good, but maybe not special enough for the final. All in all I'm really happy :) Looking forward to the second semi :)
