I had something similar in the 2021 final simulation for San Marino like in this vid. San Marino, you receive from the public votes: 225 points, and that puts you now in the lead with 413! (Commentator screams) Now, Malta needs 210 points to win the contest. Malta, you receive: 186 points, but it is not enough! This means San Marino is the winner of Eurovision 2021! The smallest participant has done it! (Commentators scream continuously for 30 seconds)

Yes, more people would understand what the commentator is saying, if you take the French one. I couldn't understand a single word and could make out more of the Danish, Dutch and Swedish commentary than from the Swiss one. Oh, and there are also people who don't even understand German or any Nordic or Alleman language besides English, but who speak French. So taking the French one would have been 2000x better. No one understands what the German Swiss guy is saying, including people like me who speak German.
