I think whichever artist goes to Eurovision needs to just be there to have fun and to be part of the show and I think that just resonates with the audience as well cause people are not just voting for the song, but for the act and for the artists too and Maneskin had all three parts in the bag I think which helped them to get 318 televotes.

okay yeah except for maybe Malta, malta was generic pop and also a cliche political message plastered onto it only used to try to win more points, but it was also destroyed in the televote so i'm happy about that.

My husband and I were talking about Malta's song before hand and we both agreed it was too soon after Netta to make a big televote impact. I have no problem with what you call 'cliche political messages' in songs as long as the song is good. BUT I do admit if you're going to send a message it should be written by the singer themselves. Don't just sell your message to the highest bidder cause then it's not really about the message.

The guy with the Moldovan performer Natalia was Philip Kirkorov. He's a Russian star but born in Bulgaria. This explains the 12 points from those two countries.

I was popping a vein until the televoting results were announced, not gonna lie. I still think it's COMPLETE BS that UK got 0. Like really 0. Are you kidding me?! But it wasn't a surprise Italy won with the votes from people, some people even say they've been overhyped (I disagree, I absolutely adore the song and now the band) however, some of the results... wtf. I don't agree with the exchange of votes Moldova and Bulgaria did it was a little bit on the nose, but I'm glad Romania voted Malta, yaaass (and not Moldova as we do nearly every year). I'm just happy my favorites are in top 5, but I wished Bulgaria was a biiit higher.

This was such a STRONG year we were definitely in for some shocks and upsets! And yeah the political voting this year was crazy. The Jury's have become more political than the public it seems. Crazy!!

The only country out of the ones who receieved 0 televote points that wasn't complete ass was The Netherlands, other than that, United Kingdom sounded like a generic ass radio cash grab that brought absolutely zero new to the table, germany was just cringe and sounded like a kids parody song and like they weren't taking themselves seriously and spain was just a generic, cliche, boring and way too "safe" ballad that also was nothing unlike every other ballad ever created in the history of anything ever. The Netherlands wasn't great, but it was at least somewhat original, they should have gotten a few points at least, but since they're the host country it is understandable why no one would vote for them, nobody wants the host country to win again.

Out of what ended up being the top 5, 4/5 were near masterpieces and unfortunately this year, the one that wasn’t won the contest. I have near echoic memory and I can hardly remember the song where at least 10 others are stuck in my head. Like I said, hopefully next year a good song wins
