A l'époque, la France savait envoyer de superbes chansons à l'eurovision. Il faut dire qu'organiser le concours coûtait bcp moins cher que de nos jours. Avant,l'eurovision était tout en qualité, avec de la sobriété..Aujourd'hui, tout est superficiel avec des chansons banales.....Bravo Nicole Rieu pour cette formidable chanson qui méritait en 1975 bien mieux que la quatrième place qu'elle a obtenue.

It was my very first Eurovision night. I was 10 then. I never forgot this performance by France. It ranked 4th eventually. The song tells about someone who suggests that any artist all around starts doing their very best to create a new world that would be the most beautiful time of Earth history in the 2000's & later. Of course, for all of us who presently live in the first part of the 21rst century those words can sound strange and a bit naive seeing how tougher & tougher reality has been becoming year by year since the end of the 90's. However, the beautiful message about peace & happiness has stayed through time. Let's stay positive: the actual result has only been delayed. Nicole Rieu the singer is still alive. She's now old. She lives in Brittany in Western France. She has kept on composing songs, singing & performing on stage for years... far away from music industry she has never liked very much. Her career has become so discreet since the early 80's.

A l'époque, j'ai été un amoureux foudroyé par sa beauté et par sa voix! Une sorte d'idéal féminin... La composition était simple, belle parce qu'évidente et touchait droit au cœur. Et à la re_découverte d'aujourd'hui, je vois qu'il y a derrière Jean Musy. Sacré bonhomme! Si la discrétion alliée à l'efficacité ont un nom, c'est bien le sien. Allez jeter un coup d’œil sur son CV long comme le bras, on comprend mieux les choses ... Belle collaboration, en tout cas! PS: Je t'aime toujours, Nicole! :-)

Cette fille était non seulement belle mais d'une gentillesse et d'une simplicité qui m'ont permis de passer un très bel après-midi inattendu en compagnie d'amis communs! Pourquoi tout-à-coup les organisateurs TV décident-ils un jour pour nous qui l'on doit entendre ou ne plus entendre dans des émissions où souvent "fleurissent" des ringards sans talent?....

The simple melody lets me fall in love with the song. Even a piano on it's own for this just makes me smile, with shivers down my spine, I don't know why or how, but it happens. Her vocals do match this atmosphere that the song gives me, calm and soothing. Overall, I pretty much fell in love with this song.

In 1975, seeing 21rst century as a very different time that was a social restart was a common dream then. The singer tells about her dream to see Earth become a much better world thanks to all artists (musicians, painters, actors, etc.) who would decide to make it be true through their creativity. The message of the song is really beautiful & told poetically.

C'est tout? Cette chanson méritait très largement de gagner. J'ai écouté les trois chansons arrivées avant "et bonjour à toi l'artiste". Franchement, la chanson de Nicole Rieu était nettement meilleure. Quel voix, quelle chanson, quelle beauté!
