Eurovision fan dressed as Joost Klein reacts to news of his expulsion

Joost Klein ends his song on a very emotional note. A message to his parents who passed away. He goes so deep into this emotion that he want some peace and quite after his song. He's let the EBU know of his wishes to not be filmed, photographed or questioned after his performance. After his performance in the semifinal there was however a Swedish camerawoman, who kept stalking and harassing Joost after being told multiple times to stop filming. Joost then made a threatening sign towards the camera. There was no physical altercation. The camerawoman then reported Joost to the police and the EBU has now disqualified him. This is according to the official dutch broadcasting network 'AVROTROS'. Mind you that till this very moment Joost has officially done nothing wrong. The investigation is ongoing. The EBU could've arranged a judge to look over this case but hasn't done so. If Joost Klein is found 'Not guilty' both Joost Klein and AVROTROS should definitely sue EBU and that awful Swedish camerawoman.

@@khankrumV Official statement state he didn't touch anyone, nor a camera. According to EBU, zero tolerance on incidents that go over the line. The camera woman first went over the line by not respecting his boundaries. Action = reaction, being in a highly emotional state, it's sensible that there would be a response.

This is wrong. Absolutely over exaggerated sanction. Joost should sue for defamation. Ebu's decisions have put everyone at harm way: the artist, audience, countries and the hole concept of the festival. Ebu needs to reflect it own actions and a purge needs to be made. And maybe there should be a search for another sponsor for the event, someone that doesn't effect on Ebu's decision making.

Official statements from AVROTROS, the Dutch broadcaster, revealed that an incident occurred following Joost's performance. A camera woman who unauthorized to film in this area was present, despite being asked to leave by Joost multiple times. Subsequently, Joost allegedly made an 'intimidating' gesture towards her. This was then reported to the EBU and the swedish police. The important take-away from this is that he did NOT touch her

You are wrong. The statement of Avrotros says that he did not touch the camera woman. What you "forgot" to say is this is just one side of the incident. The camera womans side has not been stated yet so nobody can say what really happend. The investigation is currently taking place.

They did not let it slip, when Joost confronted Israeli contestant during press conference. It was a big set-up. I am really angry, Joost was the fan favourite by far. 😤

Joost didn't nothing. The Dutch broadcaster have just made a statement with the whole story. Joost did make a move with his hands towards the camera, because the camera woman has broken the rules and agreements time after time. There was an agreement that Joost will not be filmed after his performance, because he still will be emotional. But still the woman kept filming him. Even when he repeated several time that he didn't want to and that she must stop filming him. Then he made a movement with his hands. That’s all. The punishment is disproportional.

They've released a statement. It was just a paparazzi woman harassing Joost for the 2nd time in 2 weeks in a moment where the Dutch delegation had made clear in advance agreements that he cannot be filmed after the concert and she kept filming him anyway. Joost then made a gesture of putting her phone down without touching her. That was all.

The Avrotros statement is just one side. Joosts side. The Avrotros statement does not represent what really happend. This remains to be seen in the future. The camera womans side has not been published. So when you read in the statement "Joost did not touch the camera woman" it's just their opinion, NOT the outcome of any investigations. Kinda misleading.

Hmm en when it’s found nothing and the charges are dropped. Because a gesture isn’t something you can prosecute. Then what will ebu or a Sweden do? apologize?
