I automatically lose respect for people who constantly compare Eurovision contestants to one of the only ten popstars they know exist, all of them American and worldwide trendy. It's just an insult to the literal THOUSANDS of hidden talents, fresh newcomers, regional stars, misunderstood geniuses, freaky characters and failed pop projects in the Eurovision world.

Me too, but I can see why. The staging was terrible you could barely see the people doing the hand movements, the costumes where terrible they looked like characters pulled out of a bad episode of star trek. That being said the song alone should have been enough to make the top ten! France was my absolute favorite song this year! Lessons learned: 1) Pay attention to staging! it can make you win or it can bring an awesome song crumbling down, 2) Just because Jean Paul Gaultier offers to make your outfit it doesn't mean you have put on a space overlord costume!

Denmark hands down should've won it. Higher ground is my ringtone and like Luke said you can play the song over and over and not get bored. I think this is because it's quite short but has so much going on, you notice something you didn't hear or feel before everytime you listen to it. This is my all time favourite song now and can't get enough of it!

Cyprus, Italy or Germany would have been better winners! All songs deserved a place in the top 10, apart from Sweden and Moldova. Sweden was saved by the judges (as always) and Moldova by the staging!

I am not a fan of Toy... For me there is too much sound in it, the chorus is fine it's good and I like it. I get it tho it is a fun song, danceable, good vibe, good tune in some part, her voice is very nice. Can't get past that chicken noise tho, sorry. For me, my personal favourite is Albania. I think it deserved top 10 but I am glad it finished at 11. As for the winner for me it would be either Italy or Germany because my feeling feel things and I like that. Although Cyprus deserved it too because her live performance is lit and epic.

Mie R Only eurovision songs that are playing on our radio are sweden songs and that's because its label is uniiversal music sweden (yes, the winning songs aren't played too, unless they are swedish ofc). Also, for those of you who don't know - spotify isn't avalaible in the balkans, ukraine, russia etc because if it was our songs would be more popular both in streaming and in sales. Oh, and you know very well we are talking about esc televote but you wanted to sound smart. You failed.

Eleni is amazing and the song and performance as well, loved her from the very beginning, but at the same time, Fuego sounds a bit like things we've already heard before, while as Toy doesn't and is much more unique, fresh and modern so I have to disagree with you guys on Eurovision Hub. I knew Israel would win since I first heard Toy for the first time. Eleni had an excellent performance with a mediocre song. I'm from Austria and I loved our song but didn't expect him to do so well. Germany was great, but was surprised i got so high. Sweden shouldn't have been in the top 10.

i actually placed a £10 bet on Moldova to win lol looking back now that was a crazy decision but i wanted a long shot and not put money on an obvious song. I thought because of Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Armenia & Azerbaijan not qualifying it would get the ex soviet union block vote and of course Romania. I also thought it had the best staging of the entire contest. It should have made top 5 at least in my opinion.

Actually, all of the Top 10 would have been deserved winners and could have won in medicore or weak years, the same thing applies to Albania, Lithuania and France, who finished 11th, 12th and 13th, they could have won in any other given year, but 2018 was so strong that it wasn't even enough for a Top 10 finish.

Israel didn’t deserved to be even in the top 10, it is a very stupid song and this time we had a lot of great singers like the guys from Austria, Germany and Bulgaria or the girls from Cyprus, Lithuania. And so many songs with a deep meaning like Germany, Italy, Austria, Denmark, France. And obviously great voices from Estonia, Albania and Austria. For me the winner should have been Cesar Sampson 🇦🇹 second place Michael Schulte 🇩🇪 and third place Madame Monsieur 🇫🇷. I’m very disappointed with you guys from Europe who voted for the stupid song from Israel, and the juries that gave points to Israel they are not experts and have no criterial at all.

Nettas vocals wasn’t any good as Eleni, she only won for the melody of the song and the chicken, Elini and Fuego was awesome, there was dance moves, style and fire

You need to go back and listen to Toy. It seems you missed the part where her high note slayed the entire continent. If anything I think Fuego did everything right but her vocals were so safe that anyone could have sung the song. Toy could only have been performed by Netta, no Netta no Toy.

For me: Moldova: Should have done better, especially with the performance Denmark: should have done better Estonia: Not my cup of tea, but it deserves it's placing and that dress is on point Sweden: I hate it, it would be fine, but he is way to high Czech: I was fine with this song as long as it didn't win, so I'm fine with it Italy: I don't like it, it's screaming into the mic pretending to know how to sing Germany: A good Ed sherrenish song, deserves it's placing, maybe one higher Austria: same as Germany just less Ed Sheeran Cyprus: Beyonce?
