It's also an icon and common imagery in flamenco dancing and spanish rumba dances. Many gypsy communities (gitanos) where flamenco it's said to be invented have a strong relationship with long hair as a power of femininity. It's a great cultural discussion😂 you can check it out

This is typical in gypsies women dancing flamenco. Rosalia has done it some times for example, even though she is not gypsy of course.

Absolutely! I didn't know about Melody but based on everything I've seen since she's won Benidormfest I do believe she really deserves to go to Eurovision and showcase her talent to Europe.

@ I think that, just like Finland that year, my country has decided to send a rejected Swedish song full of flashy moves and tricks to appeal to the general public. But in the end, it will only lead to irrelevance in Eurovision…

Thank you for the detailed explanation. That could be the case and based on the information we have so far I can't see Esa Diva getting onto the left hand side of the scoreboard, but it'll probably be a fairly beloved entry amongst Eurofans and an entertaining performance for the general public.

I didn't mean it in a negative way necessarily- not bad yelly. She just seemed to be really passionate about her performance and hence singing louder than you might need to for the type of microphone. That was my impression anyway- please do let me know if I am wrong.
