As far as I know, Riva frontwoman Emilija Kokić is still very much alive. She even did an interview with the Eurovangelists podcast recently. I know this is being uploaded because of Montenegro’s national final taking place this week, but still… (Eurovangelists is a Eurovision fan podcast hosted by three American guys, and they are ridiculously entertaining, mixing equal amounts of information and humor with a side of snark. Absolutely worth checking out.)

I was born in Yugoslavia back in 1976, so I was 13 when we won and up until that night I thought it was impossible for us. I still remember jumping around the house and screaming of joy, waking my parents up who went to bed with the words We have no chance of winning so we are off to bed before the voting had started. 😊❤

The blond guy is hot, I love Emilya’s 80’s outfit and the hair, she rocks those shoulder pads😅 Imagine if Celine Dion who was there that night covers the song😅 I got intrigued by old eurovision and I started watching some old stufff, Yougoslavia had some interesting entries, specially 1973 and 83, even year before, in 88 they send a fun entry, I liked the whole m.jacksonish dance, its so fascinating to see what people were inspired back then
