Dave Angel, his musical career started when he borrowed an old electronic keyboard from a friend and, using a double tape deck, assembled a bassline and drum track, over which he laid "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics. He called the result his Nightmare mix and borrowed money from a friend to press 500 copies. When BMG, and thus the Eurythmics, learnt of this, Annie Lennox wanted to prevent the sale of what was in effect an unlicensed version of their song; however, her partner Dave Stewart liked the mix, and persuaded her to allow Angel to go ahead. The track, involving elements of jazz, Detroit techno, and breakbeat hardcore, was successful, reaching number 23 in the UK Singles Chart.

I bought the white-label of this tune, it was smooth/blank on one side, a few days later i met Dave Angel in the mens toilets (oy watch it) of a club in Kensington called 'Club Orange' i started a conversation about the music with this guy not knowing who he was (both ripped to the tits on E) when i mentioned this white-label i bought and he said "i made that" bollocks messier i said.. but it was true, i made music also at the time, we swapped numbers and the rest is fucking history :)

(just to add) i lost his number :) never saw him again, but tonight i had a youtube epiphany and remembered this moment in time :) and you had it... the tune i bought was much more basic, less samples, raw rhythm (which i liked) and the sweet-dreams sample was just great, small world isn't it? (wouldn't like to paint it though) :) cheers

I lost a lot DJ'ing in Tel Aviv Israel and many in London... and I@m left with... well not a lot actually, I'm sure it was in the lot that went, I had a lot of white labels which vanished over time... ahh well, good luck in your quest
