@@muubie it's depending on the month of the year. during low seasons you can get a round trip economy ticket to taiwan from the major airports on the west coast. during christmas and chinese new years, you might be looking at $1,300. for premium economy, if you are lucky, during low seasons you can get about $800ish round trip. but definitely $1,300 and up during non-low seasons.

Oh that couple you made friends with on the flight were so cute! I'm a very nervous flyer, I had an absolutely wonderful gentleman sat next to me on my Manchester, UK to Las Vegas, NV flight, he eased my nerves so much! I loved EVA Air! When we first went back to visit the Philippines, we were able to ride the Hello Kitty plane. I don't remember the food so much, but it was an overall great experience.

Can't eat the bread rolls on their flights but the rest of the food is quite reasonable. DON'T like the ear buds/speakers. They just don't fit!

The food on Eva Airline is really good considering being on a plane. The part I always loved about flying with them is that calming music they okay before you take off and before you land. Just makes me feel so calm. Lol.

Just came back from a long trip to Taiwan and South Korea. Taiwan was the best by far. The friendliest people, the food was amazing, and everything is so cheap. Taipei felt like an international city, very tourist friendly. South Korea was beautiful and very clean. People were cold even while using polite words, but we rarely felt it. Seoul was not a tourist friendly type of country. Expensive for okay food. Didn’t live up to the hype. Just my opinion as a traveler. Gamsahabnida. Peace

Koreans are known to be very shy and do not really interact with foreigners as they are scared to speak English.. of course this is not everyone but I lived in SK for 2 years and it was difficult to connect with the people.. I however enjoyed the food (after I got used to it) and the great shopping :)

I just had a long haul flight. 14 hours. Surprisingly staff was rude and they didn't serve snacks and water thru most of the trip. They sat in the back relaxing. You had to walk to the back and get it. I felt bad for all those on the plane that didn't know this. Only those who knew, knew...and the elderly wasn't able to jump up and go back and forth to the back for snacks like all us young folk. Hopefully they change that and consider the elderly. But on a positive note I got there safely.

I assume Smoked Salmon taste so good, and is used so often on a plane because it is particularly salty and heavy in flavor, which works when your sense of taste is blunted on a plane.

I was looking at flying EVA Air from Seoul to Toronto with a layover in Taipei. The food looked decent enough to me in the video. Long haul I've only flown Cathay Pacific and Korean Air before which both had pretty good food.

So far on all my trips to the Philippines the best airlines have been Nippon Airways and Cathay Pacific. Both had good service and really good food so they would be good ones to check out.

lol, what do you expect from economy seat meals. premium economy food was better. for those of you with long legs and doesn't mind sitting next to the restroom, when booking your seats, you can request for emergency exit row seats without extra charge. but do know that it's not guaranteed seating and also, you are required to read a page worth of things you need to be able to perform during emergency landing and evacuate from the plane and also informing EVA that you can and will perform those duties when it's required.
