8:50 “the aliens didn’t destroy us, we did” I find it strange that throughout the extended franchise the people who are actually responsible for bringing the Xenomorphs into human-inhabited areas are never held responsible. Sure, Burke got what was coming to him but Weyland-Yutani is apparently never questioned by the authorities about the deaths of the Nostromo crew or the Hadley’s Hope colonists. I imagine after something like that there would be a lot of angry families on Earth demanding that justice be served.

my primary theorem is that weyland-yutani as a conglomerate superstructure is easily big enough to override any scrutinization or reputational damage they might incur, sorta like a too big to fail type schematic were they have there hand in every facet of earth culture at this point in time that they can easily gerrymander or settle any cost that might come there way as a business. which really isnt all that far from how alot of megacorporations already have shown to function irl

@@pmc83 "Aliens: Earth War" is the comic series and there is also a written novel version. The comics are older, but still can be found if you are a collector. With the release of Aliens: Romulus the pickings are slim, but once the hype dies down you should not have much issue getting it.

...Why did we get Ridley Scott's shit film sequels instead of this? That said, is there any mention of why androids weren't used more for defense? I mean, you could make tons of them with simple combat-focused AI and send them off to do battle (and if you're *_really_* paranoid, introduce remote kill devices in their bodies). Best part is that they can't be used by the xenomorphs. Automated defenses like sentry gun turrets as well...

+Brandon Dabbs Any AI that would view humanity as a threat or otherwise a target for extinction would also view xenomorphs in the same way and would try to exterminate both as potential threats. And we see how well automated defenses in the Aliens world work (and you have nothing to fear from automated sentry guns any more than you have to fear the autopilot on an airliner). I don't see the threat from AI, because it's already being used in-universe...

For me the canon is Alien to Aliens. After that, Ripley went home, took care of Jonesy, formed a relationship with Hicks and raised Newt as her own daughter. Every other iteration of the Xenomorph that has ever shown up, through comics or movies, is essentially the real world manifestation of Weyland-Yutani trying to reap as much finance as they can from the alien. Almost always with disastrous results.

I luv Scott’s/the others too, movies, and they’re more interesting and original than the comics vision. However, Scott’s vision is too deep and intelligent for the general audience. I'll be honest, as much as I have come to enjoy the Alien Extended Universe (thanks to this channel), one of the few things I would change is I would swap out the elephant design with the Covenant/Prometheus Engineer design. I just can't take the elephants seriously or find them menacing.
