I have this camera and I own a professional media company. We were hesitant at first, but we have fallen in love with this camera. We use it for capturing all the behind-the-scenes footage from our commercial video shoots. Great review Evan I think you nailed it with your feedback. Fun little tip, we don’t film in log. We found the trade-off for shooting and log versus just shooting in natural color. Wasn’t that much of a difference to us.

So I am only 1 minute in but ill say this. I bought this camera on Day 1 and it has been my most used and favorite camera ever. I used it now for 95% of my work including some client based work. It is so good. Now, I barley even use the FX3 because of how good this camera is. As someone who has been running a media business for nearly 10 years now, I wish this would have been available back in 2015, would have saved a lot of headache.

I bought mine in Japan last year, I needed something smaller to just have on me, I planned on selling it when I got back because I got it for a great price. I don’t think you could pry this thing out of my hands now. How DJI did this in a package this small is mind blowing

Held off on this purchase because I have a couple of GoPros that just collect dust or only come out for an underwater / car rig specialty shot. Always hard to judge how good a pocket video camera is via KZbin because most people only post the best of the best shots in the best lighting conditions and are usually sponsored by the brand. This review was honest and touched on just about every question I had in a genuine way. Will probably pick this up for daily carry, thanks for making this vid!

Great break down. I absolutely love my Pocket 3 I think k it’s the best clogger style option out there. Portability, audio and video quality, features, ease of use, it’s so easy to just pick up and use and you know you’re getting great quality all around. 🔥

I carry this every day in my pocket, I shoot in snow and I do watch it in the rain but I've also dropped it and I have over 60 and my eyes are not best but I don''t connected to a phone. I've yet to break a pocket as I have each version of the pocket. Oh, forgot I've used it in -20 C and it still works great!

Thanks for the kind words! It’s definitely not perfect but most people will be able to find a practical/needed application. For me that’s definitely the tracking feature, it opens a lot of doors for bts content and KZbin videos

This camera is undoubtedly one of the best cameras I’ve bought. It’s practical and small it just lacks zoom so I support it either way iPhone or Sony

I love this camera! It’s made my life so much easier. I’ve mounted it to my mirrorless camera to shoot vertical content while I shoot 16x9 for client work. It’s also super easy to vlog with. I can just clip on the mic and hit record.

@@RanftEvan Yeah exactly! Despite having a 16 Pro, I still grab the OP3 more as there is no distractions. I can be in the moment more with my daughter. On top of that, I can put it down quickly, put person tracking on it and you have your own camera operator🙂👌🏼

I'm making a doc using the fx3 and it's tedious and difficult to catch moving b- roll action. I got a pocket 3 to test it out and fell in love with how easy it is to get b- roll and creating dynamic camera moves. I will use it for a lot of b- roll action and matching it to the fx3 is perfect but audiences don't care about pixels they care about the emotional value of the content. I can't wait for the pocket 4 to come out...

with the right expectations, the P3 is pretty incredible value. great C-cam for medium-sized projects/shoots. can get just enough bokeh out of it to mix decently with other pro cam shots and battery life is incredible. It can get a mind of it's own and it's certainly not the perfect camera, but it's def found a permanent spot in my camera bag. biggest downfalls I've found with it: - no focus control for time lapse - no waypoints/A>B points for video - no scheduled capture Feels like more of a cripple hammer than a practical restriction on these things. getting smooth tilt/pans with joystick or app is pretty horrible experience, don't understand why they cannot implement the same A>B point they have in motion lapse mode for video 🤷‍♂ for $500 it's def a capable little camera thats fun and clever to use, perhaps a firmware upgrade down the road will unlock a few of these features 🤞

I was fine with the screen on the osmo pocket 1. Not ideal, but I managed. The screen on the 3 is much better in comparison. Great video by the way.

I’ve owned dozens of cameras through the years. I’m currently using two FX3s and two FX30s. I have the Osmo Pocket 2 and loved it. When this came out, I jumped on it right away. It is hands down one of the best cameras I have ever owned. It is definitely worth the hype. You have one thing wrong in this video. You do not need the app to run in pro mode. I’ve been using this camera since its release and have never used the app. You absolutely do not need it.

I purchased the Osmo Pocket 3 last month because I want to have a designated camera to film videos for channel. Nearly all of my videos are shot overhead but I will use the camera to film fun with family and friends. So far I am very pleased with it, however, I am no tech expert. I am sure I could learn more from this small and mighty gadget. Thanks for sharing your views.

I own a GoPro 9 and a GoPro 11 and do a lot of nighttime recording of musicians at bars and outdoor events. They were pretty decent and I can get multi-hour recording time with an external battery. So my main question is would I be able to get up to 2 hour continuous record time with an external battery hooked up and is it decent for a bar or outdoor sunset to night setting?

I am only giving my opinion with no real info besides having the 2 version. I would say shooting 2 hours straight might pose a problem but not guaranteed. I shot a family wedding with it and got a good hour or more and shot about 30 minutes straight. I didn’t notice heating problems though. I think I’ve had problems with my GoPro with heating though not severe as I don’t usually shoot extremely long videos with it. You might also try getting a phone gimbal. They are cheap and work very well. Way cheaper than buying a camera and good for all your phones in the future.

DJI Osmo 3 is certainly not an action camera. Besides that though the DJI is incredible. It’s also easy to hold. I have the 2 and really enjoy it.

This camera frustrates and amazes me so much. I have it for more than a year now. The stabilization and the tracking are great, it's so easy to make good videos following one spot. But there's no way to keep it completely fixed in one place. When I import the footage into Resolve I notice a slight rotation with time. I wish the time lapse was also in 10 bit when filming, as it is with all other modes. It would be nice if they had DLog instead of the DLog-M. The walking up and down movement can also be distracting. But in the end, it's a camera that you can take anywhere with you, and you end up filming more than you need to, and there's always useful footage at the end of the day.

That said, I am trying to break my habit of buying fun cameras that I eventually get bored with and end up either gathering dust or given away. One wya they can make this pro is make the gimbal and camera interchangeable with other types. E.G. telephoto mod, ultrawide mod, lowlight mod, etc.

Why don't photographers put ads at the end of their video and that way I can decide to not watch as now I just click fast forward as I don't like ads, I pay Google so I don't get them! I've also used the Pocket 2 & 3 as a dash cam, now I use the Action 5.

I hope they would re-warm original dji osmo by upgrading video quality etc+add 1/4 hole in bottom, as its very usable and handable product in field because of its size. Also changable batteries made it great. I have tested handling of dji osmo pocket 2 and 3, but I dont like they size because handling can be very clumsy. I also hate products that have integrated batteries, which are not ecological option in long run.

The Osmo pocket 1 & 2 share majority of the same functions as the 3, however costs significantly less. Worth looking into those as well to save extra money.

As an owner of the pocket 1-3 The biggest change is in camera I would say my pixel 9 pro is much better then the pocket 2 but the pocket 3 camera is something else
