In the future, you should add a base. Just a flat piece of felt, that way for crafts like Stompy you can make the realistic feet and have him stand.

The different needles will definitely make a difference. Triangle needles are what you usually find when looking for felting needles, but the spiral style speeds things up soooo much. Also coarse and fine needles are great for different parts of the process and different fibers

Evan and Katelyn are the reason I got into needle felting, and it's been my hobby since whenever their first needle felting video hit youtube. Im doing a pair of dragons as I'm making this comment. I've learned a lot since then, but now it's somewhat frustrating watching them needle felt lol Like Evan said something about the base being too dense. And sitting here wishing I could give them tips directly. If it helps anyone, the denser the wool is, the easier it is to add smaller details later. In their first ever felting video, Katelyn accidentally stabbed what was supposed to be a pupil for the eye of her little guy, completely into the body. That's because the inner layer(s) weren't dense enough.

I'm making a custom papercraft model of a pokemon using a program called pepakura! I take a 3d model I made and slice it up into 3d puzzle pieces and then send it to my cricut to cut out all the parts that i then fold and assemble!! this is so fun to watch I've been waiting for this every day since the alveus tour!
