Definitely one of the best Top 10 Rules for Success that I've seen, mostly because of his great storytelling abilities. The 2 rules that stood out for me: "Take responsibility" and "Turn your light on". If you hold yourself accountable, many of the other rules will follow. Taking responsibility requires perseverance and drive. Turning your light on means to not be afraid to use your unique gifts and abilities. If the light is dim or not on, you can't shine.

The concept of playing the right notes in life and changing your environment really touched me. I’ll explain, I’m an actor and recently things have been looking up for me. Well I have a family member who always tries putting me down anytime I talk about the craft. I realized it was bleeding over into my work and everything I did. I had to remove myself from them physically and mentally. I love that person, but I didn’t like the environment/mentality they were forcing into me.

I really want to get your book because I decided today after listening to Oprah Winfrey that I have to SERVE! I am a 62 year old woman from Halifax, Nova Scotia and I have Multiple Sclerosis since 1977. I have been in a wheelchair but now I use a walker full time. I an in a Toastmaster's club here in Halifax which I feel energized about. I have a degree in Advertising Arts from Edmonton Alberta, and I draw cartoons whenever the mood strikes me. Study the Greats: I had learned about this in Art History, how a master artist in training would study the masters... before finding their own niche. I love this. I will study the great entrepreneurs. I love to read biographies and will get some and study the greats and apply these things... I thought of " furniture" as a powerful survival method. The real point in that story though, is what he says afterwards about getting out of that situation where he would need to be furniture. It is useful advice in a powerless situation, but the point is to survive long enough to figure a way out of the powerlessness .
