Holyfield put on one of the all-time performances and should be holding the WBA title right now. I guess that's his receipt for the call in the 1st Lewis fight though

The first judge, Perez, had the closest to correct score at 114 to 114. All three judges saw a different fight.

The reason they didn't want Holyfield to win was because they didn't want the same guy who won the title four times to win it a fifth time. Boxing politics (like all politics) suck!

If Valuev was born with congenial disorder, he had been tired and weak. But here he is like stone hard - this match shows it. He is an impressive fighter. Mix between neanderthal and homo sapiens. This is not an insult. He impress me very much. Holyfield and Valuev are two great Champs. In this fight: Holyfield= not so young but elastic Valuev= not tired at all after the fight. Great video. *Thanks for posting.

This is not a surprise ending at all. The challenger in a championship fight must prove that he can beat the champ in a rather convincing way. What Holyfield did in the ring is just not enough.

Valuev wasn't absolutely terrible, he just had little going for him other than his size. He still managed to attain a good record, but he didn't really have the skills to be considered anything other than just "OK". He seems like an interesting guy out of the ring though. He thinks he's descended from giants (don't blame him), and he went hunting for a Yeti (don't think he found it). Now he's into Russian politics, but his chair in the council chambers isn't big enough for him.

Neither of them deserved to win, so I guess in that respect I guess it made sense for Valuev to keep the title. Haye must realise that he either needs to get the KO, or be so active that the judges can have no choice but give him a decision. Surely Valuev will have to be more active than this against Haye....?

Valuev is a very nice person outside of the ring. Very respectable, but he needs a LOT of work. Give him a strong jab, some endurence, better foot movement and a more toned body he could be dangerous. But who knows man.

Evander circled, Valuev prodded and that was about the sum of it. It was embarrassing to call it a fight. The commentators looked to Holyfield more from the perspective that he should have been retired and that Valuev should have mauled him. The only robbery committed was on the fans, but being the home of the Geneva Convention the 12 rounds of non-action went down rather well.

***** Because unlike MMA, it use to be a sport I respected and warriors like Mike Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Ali etc made you respect the sport but now there are too many leeches like Don King involved so people are better off watching WWE. By the way, you are right about me having no life, I'm a Retired combat vet and sit back and enjoy my life after 22 years of service while I watch fruitcakes like you blow all off your cash and live paycheck to paycheck.
