Muhammad Ali`s greatest fight ever called "The Rumble In The Jungle" vs George Foreman.. It was when he won his second World Champion Of The World title :)

He did shake the world twice...Liston and George were stopped....Think about it, what he said here in this interview, is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Ali like Marciano & Joe Louis, don't fear his opponents !!
@MrCarpen7er5 жыл бұрын
sherom if they didnt fear their opponents they would be in trouble. Fear is an essential tool to every fighter. Also, Ali later admited that he was affraid of fighting Foreman. You do know there is a thing called boxing show off ?

Fear is not an essential.. Worry and nerves are.. Fear is poison for a fighter if you fear you lost
@brettmitchell80145 жыл бұрын
I think Ali feared Foreman in the aspect of he thought he would have let down Africa. Like a true warrior he harnessed that fear and turned it into aggression and determination and kept calm and won.

There's no way Ali could have lost this fight. He was in the zone. Tremendous self belief. Losing was not an option for him. Plus his speed and skill and intelligence. Foreman was looking confused after round 1. He just hoped for a win from throwing some hard punches.

Absolutely the most Magic moment in boxing history when Ali knocked out Foreman. Just everything that led up to it, Ali was like a Christ figure in that country, after the first round I could tell he wasn't feeling right. So he used his incredible mental fight talent to divise a greater strategy in his own mind, his corner didn't even know what he was doing. But Ali just stayed with his plan like it was divine intervention, and waited for his spot and bam. Wasn't what he planned before. Mazing.

Imagine a man possessing so many strong qualities all at once, A man who was an iconic historic and record-breaking sports figure, strong moral principles, physically gorgeous and stunningly handsome, warmhearted towards the common man and the down-trotten, humanitarian at a global scale, ability to be serious with a tremendous depth, using words with a lot of weight accordingly and can maneuver difficult conversations well, when in company with others he was known for always being light in spirit // joyous and humorous. He was superbly intelligent verbally, funny and witty on the spot. He was offered to teach poetry at Harvard even though he left high-school being considered illiterate. He was abundantly creative poetically, and brought verbal artistry to a field where-in it had never been imagined to be used. He ignited passion and new life to the sport of boxing and he invented new techniques and styles to boxing too. He was a humble man despite being one of the wealthiest and most famous on planet. He was a spiritual leader and voice of faith. He always saw eye to eye with anyone he met no matter their status. He was generous with his time and money. He was a sensitive man, it’s obvious to see how deeply he cared for the well being of anyone suffering. He pro-actively used his hard earned success to give back to those who needed it the most. He bravely spoke up for his beliefs at a time and place were you could get killed for doing so, especially risky for a man in the spotlight. HIS CONFIDNECE, TRUST AND BELIEF IN HIMSELF !!!!! What a breath of fresh air ~~ … Just to hear someone so comfortable speaking that positively and encouragingly about himself? Who else could pull that off without coming across as annoying? When he does it, we only look at him fondly, because he does it in such a charming manner- a skill / ability hard to teach or study. So many have low self worth today, seeing no light whatsoever within themselves… if only we had 10 more of him. I’m sure anybody can agree, we all feel wonderfully uplifted when we observe how he carries himself with such pride, respect and warmth. ALI ❤ A man of action, a man of his word. A man with a strong, warm heart. A man fiercely bold and brave - a man full of love and sincerity. What a fascinating man to observe. Brilliant we can look back at media like this, immortalizing him in a way that would not have been possible had he existed 200 years ago. Ali is the best man for admiration in my eyes, what a life he lead.

njclondon2009 exactly. I don’t know why people keep saying that it was a close fight. Even the doc, When we were kings, which is great anyway, indulges in this romantic fantasy, perhaps for drama purposes. Reality is Ali did not make a single mistake in Kinshasa, and even if he didn’t fly, he did sting Foreman, with sharp precision, again and again for eight rounds. This fight was Ali’s technically best performance
@camtinley4 жыл бұрын
People say it was a close fight because Joe Frazier was giving the "expert commentary" ringside. He couldn't accept that Ali was dominating the fight and was calling rounds for George that he clearly lost.

Lol what the hell!? He's probably the _most_ known boxer in the entire world. In fact, some people back then have said that he was over-rated as a 'boxer' because his fame comes from more than just boxing; he was a comedian, activist, and all round controversial figure when he went against standard American laws back then. You sort of need to know about boxing when talking about Joe Fraiser, Mike Tyson, and George Foreman, but you definitely don't when talking about Ali. You need to stop spewing out that line without thinking about it.

Ali said he had no regrets he lived 30 lifetimes in his 70-plus years and had experiences that no one else had used his skill in the ring and his Fame outside too affect tremendous change after he retired he remained a generous man extremely generous to a fault even when he was fighting and he was giving away a lot of his money ... For his boxing career he always had a huge amount of hangers-on and he had such a big heart he pretty much bankroll them all the way through 1981. He didn't manage his money all that well and Don King is a thief took a lot of money from the fighters whose fight he promoted. Did so without late when I leave would we driving down the street with his limo driver he would tell his limo driver to stop a feet saw a homeless person or a group of homeless people he would come out of the limo shadow box for them and give them hope and also it happened more times than the limo drivers could count Ali would take his wallet out and give away every bit of cash he had on him getting back in the limo he would look at the limo driver shaking his head and say what are you shaking your head for the limo driver would say you Champ you can't keep doing that! Muhammad Ali would say these people have no money I can drive to the bank and get more money. Muhammad Ali's last two fights against holmes and berbick or because he was basically broke as far as cash money even though he did on a lot of property and homes and collectible cars and whatnot in 1979 with no cash coming in Ali was much more cash poor. a promoter off is you millions of dollars to come back and fight even though you're well past your prime I guess millions of dollars it's tough to turn down

Does anyone think he has the beginnings of the disease here? most people agree he had it since at least 75, this was 74. I'm not sure myself. His words are not coming out the was they did a few years b4 in my opinion. I'm not saying he wasn't fit to fight. I just think maybe? the disease had already took hold.. opinions please
@tonym9946 жыл бұрын
Kevin Dunn I didn't know a thing about that disease back then, but I saw (heard) his voice slowing down ,and I knew he'd taken plenty of shots when his speed started to fail him (foot speed),and he started trading w/ guys like Lyle and Norton, Shavers. .Clay wouldn't have done that .he was effectively evasive .here, he was definitely fit to fight and still had hand speed. by the mid-70's I knew something was wrong. after Foreman, his was a story book career. he should've retired that night. when he said ''everybody! stop talkin'! and proceeded to straighten out the sports media .and everyone else with in hearing distance. Ferdie Pacheco put it best (paraphrasing). ''at 30 ,he was a great physical specimen. by 35, he was a shambling wreck''.see 'When we were Kings' the Oscar winning documentary feature.

'best ever' is something where your own personal opinion comes in. both men paid dearly w/ their health for that bout. if he retired after beating Foreman, which is why he kept on in the first place(to regain his title,which George took from smokin' Joe) we wouldn't be discussing that 3rd meeting in Manilla .great bout, yes. but overkill also. two Hall of Famers w/ nothing left to prove pounding on each other. of course, I have to give it up to Joe for trying to gain back the title,and ALI, for giving him the shot .but let's face it'.the money was there.

Kevin Dunn I do think, that the signs of Parkinson disease started showing after foght in Manila. In 1976 he slowed, but still mamy people say it was not clear that he had Parkinson at that time, because if you do some research you will notice that his speech, which is a good indicator was very decent, at least until Shavers fight, when it started deteriorated drastically. Of course Ali in 1974 was slowe, than he had benn 7-8 years earlier, but take a point that he was about 32-33 years old, which might be a good reason why he was slower. At that time his speech was very similar to old Ali from 60s. I do think that something happened in Manila, just compare his pre-Manila fights ( Joe Bugner - june 75 ), to his post-Manila fights ( Ken Norton sept -76, then Shavers 77, and Spinks 78, when he was missing punches very often, amd had no speed and reflexes at all ). Before Manila even in 1975, he spoke still very quickly and clearly, and his speed was very decent ( tko on Lyle round 11, fast flurry, which came from nowhere, same with Bugner, when he showed he could still go distance, and be fast ). In 1976 it was clear that Ali was loosing every advantage, which he had had before, but some people, among his former doctor who left the camp in 1977 said that it wasn’t still that bad in 1976, and he could avoid a lot of negative effects which he had later. I also think, that teh fights, which destroyed him and caused main brain damage were after Manila ( mostly Shavers and Spinks ). If you notice how hurt Ali was during Shavers fight you will know what I mean. Later preparations for the 2nd Spinks fight took everything out of champion ( It is well known, that he was training furiosly, and sparred a lot at that time ). To sum up I really think ( honestly I am sure ) that in 1974 Ali had no signs of Parkinson. It started appearing after Manila, and got MUCH worse when kept fighting, especially in late 1977, and 1978. I am not mentioning Holmes and Berbick fights, because at that time it was clear ( before the Holmes fight ), that Ali is slow, he couldn’t even hit a speed bag, which is shown in some yt clips.
@sherom6 жыл бұрын
He is very sharp here, if he would of retired after this fight, I truly believe he would of never developed Parkinson's disease .

I agree forman ducked holmes (although foreman was way past his prime), i also agree holmes was a great fighter and he was massively underated, but to mention him in the same breath as ali and tyson is ridiculous. foreman and fraiser would have smashed him in thier prime, as would ali. in holmes prime, tyson would of still smashed him. ali and tyson are in a different league.
