It IS a hard song to sing! I've been singing since I was 6 years old (I'm 25 now) and as a vocalist I can tell you this note in the chorus is rather high and it's hard to hold that note throughout the whole chorus and by the end of the song your throat's hurting a little bit! To hold such a high note with so much power behind it!

That's why when I sometimes sing Evanescence when it comes to Karaoke and what not, I change my pitch because I am not a soprano, and cannot sing that high. I have always been an alto and always will be an alto. Other than that, I avoid singing Evanescence because it's to high for me. When I sing, I mainly sing songs from bands like Motley Crue, Metallica, 3 Doors Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, some Judas Priest, etc. I mainly sing stuff where it's not only smooth, but can be slightly raspy, like what James Hetfield has from Metallica and has to be in a certain range on my end to be able to sing where it's not too high, but not too low either where it has to be in the middle (Which is why I could never sing Whitesnake either because on some songs, David Coverdale goes pretty low, and I can't.)
