Hi David, totally agree with you. I have been saved multiple times by Evanescence and specially Amy's voice. I will never meet her, never been able to tell how she saved my lives multiple times, I will never find someone like her again! I am first in line to meet her if you start on the bottom. Like 8 billion before me.... But I am hoping she can save me from the nothing I have become and until then I am alone all along. Where will I go when I have no one left to save me from myself? Although I am lost in this earthly paradise, I feel like I have nothing left. Maybe I just don't want to escape. Sometimes I even dare to use my voice! For me, this song is the most underrated masterpiece ever made by Evanescence. I used to play this song so loud that my car’s framework would vibrate in blurs to the rhythm. I would scream every word and cry until my voice was raw for days after. Weeks I did this, purging years of pain, shame and trauma repressed by an instinct to internalize and survive. I’m not perfect, but better now. I started to listen to Evanescence years ago when I was living the worst part of my life. When I listened to their songs, I thought it was comforting to know that I was not the only one to feel that way. When I started to see the interviews of Amy Lee, I noticed how positive and happy she was so I confused that how can a positive and always smiling person write such depressive songs. Now I realize that no matter how bad I feel, I should keep my mind positive. That was what Amy tried to show. She is the biggest inspiration for me and no matter how many bands I discover day by day, Evanescence is the only band I go back to in the end.

What i love about amy lee's music is that she doesnt just sing or play the piano. She makes you feel the music. She conveys her emotion with her beauty. My brother completed suicide in 2016. I used to listen to this all the time way before then. Recently I’ve re-listened to it and understand it more. He left a scar on my heart that won’t ever be healed. The part where she sings “one day we won’t feel this pain anymore take it all away, the shadows of you because they won’t let me go” resonates so much with me now. This song encapsulated our struggles in life and he couldn’t handle it anymore. Now all I feel is this cruel wanting. Now I’m officially lost in paradise.

When I first heard this song I was inspired with an entire story. I could've written a book by just listening to this song. I still remember the story. Maybe I should start writing again? How does Evanscence know my soul so well? I'm an extreme metalhead{I listen mostly to thrash, death, and black metal} for 25 years now, though I listen "lighter" metal as well{and a few non-metal musicians as well; and I appreciate most forms of music} But every song on every one of their albums echos my inner soul so well, no other band has ever touched me this way, managed to bring tears to my eyes and touch my emotions so well or deeply. Thank you Amy Lee and co. for such beautiful, touching music/songs/lyrics and cool videos. this one is especially beautiful and has such complex meaning for such a simple video. ;)

Heres an interesting fact she sings all of her song in chest voice rather than the high notes being in head voice (unless you a singer you might not get this) this is very hard to do making her so incredible and unique........
