Amy Lee nailed this part in the video. You can actually see the pain and despair that the character is feeling. Long time fan, and just to blow your mind, I'm a 63 year old man fan. These lyrics stand alone as quality poetry, then you heighten it with the music, then you enhance it with Amy's incredibly expressive singing, and then the very well done video just puts a cherry on it. I can't think of a Evanescence song I don't like, and quite a few I love. If you do it right, angst does not go away with your teens, you do not stop feeling.

The raw emotion and intense lyrics really capture the struggle of confronting deception and maintaining authenticity. Amy Lee’s vocals are incredibly haunting and perfectly convey the song’s message. The driving instrumentals and the song's atmospheric quality create a sense of urgency and intensity that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The lyrics are a poignant reminder of the dangers of superficiality and the importance of being genuine in a world full of facades. It’s a track that resonates deeply and challenges listeners to reflect on their own experiences with deception and self-identity. Every time I listen to it, I’m reminded of the strength found in embracing who you truly are

Amy Lee warned us about false advertising, unrealistic beauty standards, the pressures of being a woman in the music industry, the chronic epidemic of loneliness and despair, the struggle of not fitting in, and the dangers of blindly following those in power without questioning their motives, yet shows the power of what we can be when we be ourselves and seek the truth. This video predicted so much of the societal ills we have today in the Instagram, TikTok, and social media generation. Everybody’s Fool was so ahead of its time and we were fools not to listen.

My native language is not English, but somehow now, after years listening this song, I am fascinated on how she plays with the sentence "you've got everybody's fooled". And later, what blowed my mind was that at the end of the song she changed the sentence to "you're everybody's fool". The lyrics, the videoclip and the story behind the song is very well matched. She is trully a genius.

Oh how this song is WAY more relevant in 2019 than it was in 2003. That's the kind of thing that happens when artists who keep it real and are true to themselves write truly inspirational music, the value only grows over time. Totally opposite of writing the usual, fake "whatever it most popular now" music that blows up quick and then is forgotten about as fast as it came around. Definitely a great song. A great song for great people, on an album that did a lot for everyone who listened to it.

I don't feel like it's "WAY more relevant". Maybe you just had a different experience in 2003 than some of us. I was a teenage girl then and popstars did our self-esteem no favours. The difference now is there is even more 'reality' entertainment and it's gotten just as fake as showbiz was back then. It's an added layer of betrayal because 'reality' and KZbin were supposed to be 'real', but fakery was just as rampant back then.

I find it funny that this song is more relevant today in 2018 than it was at the time of this video's initial release. Also, this music video eerily tells a slight variation of what happened to Britney Spears, the "MEGA IT GIRL" of the early 2000s.

Except K-Pop. K-Popper are Everybody's fool To The MAX to this very day. ...But then I realized you are right, I am just thinking about depth, not width. Yeah even after receiving so much hatred when they released such songs They never gave up and today they are one of the most recognised and best band .. And I believe if this band continued their hard work they could actually beat Beatles and other bands there .. Anyways stay healthy And enjoy your life ❤

This video gives me chillbumps every time. How her smile cracks and the depression breaks thru her eyes is scary real. She looks amazing and the song is great. Always lets me think of Britney. There are so many references in that video like the school dress the doll wears and the motorcycle like in the toxic video.

It's interesting how metal groups are formed by smart and well educated people.

It’s been proven that broad music taste and intelligence is positively correlated. Also yea, how can it not be. Pop music lacks depth cause it’s easy to listen to. Music like this has meaning and truth. And we all know it’s hard for us humans to listen to truths. This is why people who are more open minded, therefore more wise, gravitate towards this.

I used to listen to this when I was a child... I'm an adult now and I still absolutely love it. It's the kind of song you love forever.

My goodness. This was in my recommended videos and I had to click. I’ve never seen this video but I memorized every word to that album. I’m almost 41. I saw Evanescence in Chicago when I was 20 or so. It was amazing - her and her piano rose from the dark stage and started playing My Immortal - just her voice and her piano. It’s something I’ll never forget. In 2022, at age 40 - I took my teenage daughter to Evanescence in STL. She will forever be such an amazing artist. I’m so glad my teen appreciates and loves this amazing artist as much as I did/do.

Nice. And remember, Jesus Christ is the Only Way to salvation. If you want eternal life that is, which is a gift of God.
