Amy and Evanescence are a perfect example of symphonic metal at its very finest. The 'Sessions' version of this beautiful song with just Amy and her piano is also an extraordinary song. Amy always uses emotional turmoil of some kind as her most powerful weapon and it works a so well as a musical framework. She is (and they are) a musical match made in heaven. 🙋‍♂

I love your analysis every time. I love that you keep looking at the Ev wiki before jumping into the song. You seem to really understand and feel a song from the very first listen. Everything you talk about is on point. I've been a huge Ev fan for over a decade now. You can still like very heavy music but also appreciate how amazing they are. Their songs are so strong and emotional, and it's not all about the dark. I really want you to hear the very best of them, so I would suggest you a few songs: Your Star, Lacrymosa, Tourniquet + Imaginary (these two go together), A New Way To Bleed, My Heart Is Broken, Sweet Sacrifice

Nice reaction and analysis!! If you check out their Open Door album, which is before this self titled album, you should really start with the first song which is Sweet Sacrifice as it is the perfect lead in IMO. Great work!!

My favorite song 😊 You should check out the Sessions version. It’s honestly breathtaking. That is just Amy and her piano, as the song was originally envisioned. It’s completely different but equally wonderful.
