It was my Protestant friend who tried to convert me that made me so thirsty to learn all about my Catholic faith. I will never leave it. That’s where my conversion story started. Then came the Companions of the Cross Priests. Forever grateful ❤🕊🔥

I too had that happen to me,as I married Baptist and had to witness to his family., some to him, although he isn't practicing his faith....then I started teaching CCD and was reminded and renewed a lot of my Baltimore Catholic teachings. I was hungry. Then I became home bound with illness and then I was Baptized in the Holy Spirit! God know what is best! Lead me Lord and I will follow!

Some religions are a little sneaky. They invite you to a picnic or gathering and before you know, people start giving testimonials and turn it to some worship service. You have to be firm in your catholic faith. My catholic sister says she'll let her kids decide what they want to believe in. WRONG. Others will decide for them.

@@harleymann2086 I’ve met many ex Catholics who were swept off their feet with the fervor of Protestant evangelism … their response is always the same, I never knew this or that and I wasn’t taught this in school. @@petemaverick4538 I became a Catholic at a Baptist Bible College trying to prove the Catholic Church was in error. I have met a few of those Evangelicals, as well. I took more effort than they did to learn the Catholic Faith and I corrected these former Catholics. They all become silent. I agree with you that our Church needs more emphasis in this area. But, don’t forget two things: 1) if it wasn’t for the Catholic Church these “churches” wouldn’t be so rigourous. Many of the people in these communities are taught they must convert Catholics _as if they lived with John Calvin at the Reformation._ So, this is a primary motivation for them to learn about their beliefs. 2) the vast majority of people in society are unchurched and have never been welcomed into one. This takes minimal study to correct. What it does take is encouragement and “hand holding” for some people. Thank you for your comment

@@harleymann2086 The problem is we have a person sitting on Chair of Peter who despises all those who evangelize, convert non Christians. He reprimands them with harsh words. Such is the sad state of the Catholic Church, as many think that he is authentic. God Save us.
@nelsonphilip4520

WHY didn't they learn that? I wouldn't assume that it wasn't because Faith was not taught. It takes effort and commitment to learn & believe. It's also an association of who & whom. And if during your formative years you only pay lip service to your Faith development, then more than likely will only have a superficial Faith. @@petemaverick4538

The message of Jesus' Divine Mercy and a fervent Jesus I Trust in You leads us to His Divine Will where we come so much close to Our Lord who waits so patiently for us to knock. I run into people who have left the Church after going to Catholic school who tell me that they left because they found Jesus. So, I ask, " Who were you talking to during daily prayer everyday?" " I can't believe you want to deny the Blessed Mother!" and " If the original isn't true, none of them are true" and "Bible Alone churches deny the Holy Spirit in every generation as promised." I think some want more of a social club or don't want the prejudice that comes with being Catholic or the discipline of going to Mass each week or not using artificial birth control. The priest scandals and closing the churches during Covid hurt many, too. I tell them," Over 95% of our priests were never guilty or accused." " I know priests who died of Covid or were in intensive care for months" My Pastor used to say the church is for WORSHIP and the patio and hall are for social. We have 2000+ years of goodness and people's personal sacrifice while some churches were founded after I was born! I am older than their church! GBY

The Bible Alone churches that I know do not acknowledge saints, for they don't believe the Catholic Church has the ability or authority to determine who is a saint and they think sainthood takes away from Jesus history instead of showing Him working with and through His people. They believe the dead are dead until Christ's 2nd Coming. The Bible ends in 90 AD and then somehow miraculously makes a reappearance with the invention of the printing press and of paper and the rebellion Luther in the 1500's.

I am not a Roman Catholic but a reformed Christian and I still want to thank you for this message Pastor Goring. Although the woman in your story had an Evangelical background, I feel like this message relates to me and perhaps the situation of many Christians in Western society. At times, we feel a concern that we will be accused of pushing our faith down people's throat. We don't want to be admonished or feel awkward when the culture depicts us as ignorant weirdos of Jesus freaks (the latter of which I am not too against haha because I love Jesus and I am proud of it). This is a great call to be bold in our faith and let the chips fall where they may upon sharing the good news of our salvation through Christ. God bless you all today my brothers and sisters in Christ, and may we all have the courage to boldly proclaim our faith xxx

I just had this experience this morning at Sunday mass. I'm a superannuated catechumen, technically not yet even a Christian since I' still pounding on the doors of the baptistry to let me in [since last Lent], yet last week I had this encounter with a colleague at work who I have known for years, somehow it slips out that I am in this conversion process, he then offers me his really rather bad advice about the Catholic Church - as a rather fallen Catholic himself. It was very funny, I just gave him the look of slight disdain and mentioned, "I haven't seen you at mass." He counters that he was once an altar boy and makes some more poor excuses. I give him a slightly elevated look of disdain. My colleague gives some more excuses about how things with the Catholic religion *really* work and how he and Jesus have an "understanding." I give my colleague the hairy eyeball and leave it at that. That Sunday morning there he was, with his brother, at mass a couple of rows ahead of me. What exactly that means we will only know in the coming weeks and months and years as is exactly the case the the so-called-evangelical converts described in this video. If only Catholics could reliably retrieve the Catholics who do not go to mass and who were much like Fr. Goring was when he was still an adolescent and fully rekindle their own Catholic faith, the world would be a much different place. And better. Technically I am not even a Christian yet and this stuff actually works. God is an eternal process outside of time and history, we as mere humans are still contained within a temporal process, the process of human alignment to an eternal process cannot be reduced to a single temporal act of will or grace - it is something that ultimately becomes *you* throughout your life and for all eternity.

Excellent practical stool for world mission sunday 22 oct. Pope Francis said that coming to know Jesus through the scriptures and the Eucharist should fill Catholics with enthusiasm to joyfully share the Gospel with others. What the world needs is the love of God, to encounter Christ and believe in Him. The theme the Pope chose for 2023 celebration is Hearts on fire, feet on the move, which he said was inspired by the story of Jesus and the disciples on the road to Emmaus after the resurrection.

We have missionaries who go abroad. However, where I come from Catholic priests only seem to speak to the converted. Fr Mark has solved matters in his mission to the world.

as only Fr Mark (& The Holy 🕊 Spirit) can deliver: .. …but he (St Matthew) goes on to say…33 But *whoever denies me before others: Now let me see, what does it say here?…’don’t worry because all religions are the same?’ . No! No! That’s not what it says… *whoever denies me before others: ‘don’t worry because everyone’s going to heaven anyways..No! No! That’s not * whoever denies me before others: It’s OK, I’m just One Way among many. No, ‘as you know, it says : 📖✝️ “whoever denies me before others, will be denied before the Angels of God / before The Father in Heaven 🙏🏼🔥 Lord Jesus, help us be sincere BOLD witnesses to You, GOODNESS, BEAUTY, TRUTH & LOVE, HIMSELF .. Many times I feel shocked by the statements of evangelicals ..their attitude towards our pope Francis , towards the Holy Mother Mary and praying the rosary .. Many of these evangelical channels on YT. Acting in them as if catholics are the worst heretics .. This hurts me . Glad you spoke of this ,fr.Mark . Grts and blessings from Belgium 🇧🇪 🙏 ❤❤

I pass out Divine Mercy prayer cards when I go thru Starbucks. I have given people Mother of All Peoples prayer cards to people from Dr Mark Miraveli… one Presbyterian gave it back to me and said “ She’s not my mother” I said yes she is she is the Mother of Jesus… I didn’t want to argue with him he’s pretty obstinate. Anyway that’s the little bit I do. I’ve given out a few rosaries also. Father Mark is a great evangelist as is Father Mike Schmitz encouraging young people to stay try to the faith.

I love hearing that. I don’t think I’m a perfect person. But I do believe in God, our heavenly father and his son, Jesus Christ. I’ve had so many wondrous little miracles in my life what kills me about people who hate Christians, is that they’ll never get those little beautiful experiences or have that close association with this Holy Spirit or our Savior Jesus Christ!

The only thing; in Quebec. So many people are so closed to the faith. I don't know how to reach them.😢 Doing classes on the New Evangelization on the Revive website. Please pray for me and those I will try to reach.

How sad to hear, in a province with a rich Catholic history. I remember being in Quebec City for the Eucharistic Congress and being amazed to see how many streets were named after Saints.

I know Quebec quiet well. You know, You actually maybe surprised. People see others with purple hair, tattoos all over the arms and neck, piercings in their face, serving coffee at stores all of the time. You might just be that happy person, full of life and energy, talking about how great it is to welcome people in to your Church. You can later demonstrate how Jesus gives people direction in life. May God Bless is all who desire to share the Good News of Jesus Christ Oh… and don’t worry about knowing all of the answers to questions people in Quebec might have, you can say, “let me get back to you”.

Dear Marlene, What do you mean by your statement _when you were baptized with the Holy Spirit?_ When a person is licitly baptized and anointed with Holy oil, you are born again (cleansed of oringal sin and become the adopted child of God) and receive the indwelling/infilling of the the Holy Spirit (aka baptized with the Holy Spirit). Born of water and the Spirit. The Sacrament of Confirmation further blesses us with the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit. Amen and God bless Quote This expression “baptism in the Holy Spirit” is used in the charismatic renewal to refer to an experience of an intensified awareness of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. This presence and power can be manifested in various bodily ways. Even so, *the use of the word baptism can lead to a misunderstanding,* since this experience is not a sacrament instituted by Christ but rather *a new awareness of the life given to Christians in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation.*
