On my visit to Japan last year, I went into a pachinko parlor just to see what it was like. That was one of my biggest memories of feeling like a clueless outsider. It was intimidating. Even if you’re inclined to be a bumbling tourist asking for help, it was too loud for any kind of language-barrier communication. You either know what you’re doing, or you don’t belong there.
@medalgameguru13674 жыл бұрын
I was confused at first too. It was a bit of trial and error playing 1 yen machines. Eventually I figured out the difference between 1 and 4 yen, how to play left and right shooting machines, how to read the stats, and how to communicate with the staff with a language barrier. My Japanese has gotten better over the time, however, my first time there I barely knew 5 words in Japanese

From my understanding the way it works is you're sending them down the right side to keep refilling that little sword meter to keep rolling the minigame slot machine and getting more balls. Once it hits a triple you'll spot one of the monsters and need to do the quick time event, if successfully done youll enter a fever mode where the wings on the side of the center will open allowing you to drop balls into them for a bonus?
@medalgameguru1367 Жыл бұрын
That’s pretty much what is happening. When a bonus is hit, you tend to shoot right to hit the slot start hole which replenishes the lost ball and once it’s determined a bonus is hit, the quick time event occurs and if won, the fever gate opens and gives your payout based on the number of bonus rounds earned with the max on this game being a 16 round bonus. Once the fever gate closes, it continues until you lose a QuickTime event.

My newest video shows me from the start of a session (renting the balls) To the first bonus. After the bonus hit, I hit a few more off of camera during the rush mode (this triggers after you hit a bonus and makes hitting another one much easier than normally) but my phone was low battery so I couldn't video the entire thing.

Really love these vids! One question, are the bonus features timing/skill based or is it just random luck?
@medalgameguru13678 жыл бұрын
Battle Arcade well it's about 50/50. Because when you get the ball in the center hole you always get 3-5 balls back (depending on the machine). The slot is luck but sometimes there is more skill put depending on the machine. Some require timing some require spots where you need to aim the ball as it shoots out to get into a certain hole that opens only for a split second. But essentially the more balls you get in the center hole the easier it is to win. There is also surrounding holes that give balls back too but don't award a chance at the bonus. Now after you hit a bonus it goes into a fever mode where you have a certain amount of spins to hit bonuses a lot easier. I'll make a video shortly on how it works with the pachinko machine I own. There is some which are 100% skill with no luck required which I am currently in the process of getting and will post a video on that as well

This all depends on the machine you are playing. This particular machine 2180 balls for a super big bonus (three XXX) for the even numbers (example 222) on this machine, payed about 450 balls. After winning an initial bonus, the machine goes into something called a rush, this makes it easier to spin the slot and makes you have a higher chance of winning a second bonus. Once another bonus hits, if it’s a good bonus, the machine will stay in rush mode until you have hit an ending bonus (in this machine it would be a loosing battle.) Since I stopped filming during the rush, I ended up winning 4 super big bonuses and 2 regular bonuses before my rush ended. The total balls I won was around 9,000. I can’t remember if I was on a 4 cent per ball machine or a 1 cent per ball machine. So it was either 90.00 or 360.00. But I’m pretty sure it was a 4 cent machine.

The psychology behind these machines and how they prey on people with addictive personalities is reprehensible. Gambling should be outlawed as a practice and all these companies making these games should be ashamed of themselves.
@medalgameguru13672 жыл бұрын
That’s your opinion. gambling is a form of entertainment, do it responsibly. The same can be said for other things such as drinking and smoking, both can be addictive, yet none of those are outlawed. There’s a reason you need to be 18+ to gamble and 20+ to drink and smoke, because you are responsible for your own actions despite your addiction. If something is addicting, it is best to find professional help. Also based on what you’re saying, claw machines, redemption games, carnival games, and other similar forms of entertainment should all be illegal as well.

@@medalgameguru1367 Those games can be fine when they aren't rigged (which they almost always are); many also involve some skill. These, on the other hand, are just glorified slot machines.
