I converted my XC bike to Mullet setup. You can immediately feel the difference the agility for quick left and right turn. You can still roll over bigger bumps and turns easily as well and hell yeah it can still climb good

@EvansMTBSaga Wow! Calling a mixed wheel bike a Mullet is so gay! Hey Evan, did you know that there is a bike company that trademarked Mullet back in 2017 and the industry stole this terminology from them and give them zero credit? So cool!!!! ❤❤❤

yup mullets are better! there was a podcast on vital MTB where john hall (aaron gwin's mechanic) explains this very good and that in 2023 season 98% of the racers will be on a mullet bec its faster on everything except for the rock section but the high pivot suspension got that covered.

I've converted both my Focus Jam2 EMTB and my Devinci Troy Carbon to Mullet. Both bikes were 27.5 frames to start with. The Focus came with Plus tyres so the fork was already 29". 27.5 / 2.8 on the rear and 29/ 2.5 up front. The geo came out almost identical to the Focus Jam2 Drifter (Mullet specific bike) 😀. The Troy has adjustable geo, so I set it in the 'Low' position and put a 29" fork and wheel on there. Both bikes ride fantastic ,and I can't imagine I would ever go back to 27.5 at both ends - Love the video, it's adds a bit of science to the subject😀

I've been back an forth with rear wheel size recently(have both the spectral mullet and the 29er, both cf8 models) - I think the trade offs between either leans to more Riding pro's towards the smaller rear wheel IMO. Other than XC bikes and maybe some short short travel Trail bikes i dont see the overal need for a 29er rear, maybe on certain DH race tracks where its wide open all the time. Mullet bikes have been a great addition to the MTB world, more brands are opting for it just purely based on performance benefits which is great for consumers

I had one of those Cannondale mullets back in the mid 1980s. First production mountain bike I ever saw. No suspension 26 on the front and 24 on the rear. No one around here had a mountain bike, there wasn't even mountain bike trails. I road hiking trails and an old off road motorcycle trails along side some local highways. Bright yellow paint job with those oversized Cannondale tubing. Sun tour components, friction shift levers and power cam breaks. The breaks were okay, a lot of power when they were clean. But Cannondale in their wisdom put the rear brake down by the bottom bracket. It really made a clean looking rear end on the bike, but dirt would get into the brakes so very fast. Found some canvas and velcro covers for the brakes in some camping supply catalog . Remember there was no internet, no Amazon. That was the problem I had with finding tires too. 26 not a problem but a good 24. I delt with the lack of suspension eventually with this big spring loaded stem. The thing must have weighed a pound or two. The bike used a traditional quill style stem so this spring loaded thing was about all I could find. Turns out that the bike might even be collectable today. Should have hung on to it. That and half dozen other old bikes or cool cars.

Really amazing to see how MTB's are catching up to how motocross was 20 years ago. Now we only need the inverted forks

Hah right! MX bikes aren't even called mullets, it's just normal! There's a few brands doing inverted forks. I'd definitely like to try them
@heinzhaupthaar5590

Inverted forks have been around for ages. Although still rare, even my first real bike almost 20 years ago already had one. Shiver SC, was kind of a pos considering the price tag though but enough for what I did. And looked f'ng rad. They come with a few inherent downsides though. After all - nothing is for free - always a trade-off, you got to carefully choose what you're willing to compromise on. It seems there's a few new SC ones coming up, with carbon tubes and all that funky sht. In a year or so there should be plenty of mid-term experience with them, but so far they couldn't hold water against the regular ones on the market. Except the Lefty, which is just built different. I guess we'll see. But they sure won't just take over the market in a blink like some other things did.

I've been riding this bike for 7 years now! kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L It was a great bike the day I got it, put it together, and went on my first ride; more importantly it's an even better bike today. I've ridden trails, street, and skatepark all on this bike. I have replaced almost every part on the bike. Some stuff has broken: derailleurs, wheels, shifter. Everything else were upgrades. The only ramaing original parts are the frame, bottom bracket, and crank set. BB and cranks will be upgraded soon. The geometry isn't great but that is really the only draw back to how good a value this bike is. Even after all the money I've spent upgrading it's still a more affordable bike than I'd have bought from a proper bike shop, especially with full suspension. I've also learned a lot about bikes working on it over the years. It really is one of the best perchases I've ever made and hopefully it'll still be around for another 7 years.

i think there is more in your mind than the reallity its al the mind set and energy that you bring to the specific run as you can see S4 was the same time on the 29 and the mullet.... i think maybe because it was your last ride on the trails thats bring more pure ride and les brain disorder
