I have a 2020 Trek Slash and must say, after 25years or riding, and countless bikes, its been the best mtb Ive ever had. Surprisingly reliable, competent in all terrain, and havent had any bushings or bearings wear out yet after 1000's of miles. Seems like if you get a good frame, a major brand bike can really last.

I’ve rode the Druid V1 (the bike that started it all) extensively since 2020. I can say it’s definitely not marketing you can accelerate through roots and rocks like nothing else. Picked up the Dreadnought V2 this spring and that thing rips as well. Also if your chain ever pops off that lower guide there’s an L bracket MRP can send you to fix that. Happened a couple times on my Dreadnought and that fixed it.

I actually love to see all these different concepts of really every bike part in mountain biking. It would be so boring if every bike had the same concept of geometry, suspension etc. Even if it doesn‘t really improve anything I appreciate the search for innovation and trying to move forward.

Trek fixed that issue with the chain falling off 🏁 sick bike! I love my trek remedy
@davew782Ай бұрын
There were 2 issues - the lower guide being incorrectly shimmed (regular and Transmission drivetrains need different spacings) and a new upper idler pulley with much longer teeth for better retention. Replacing the upper pulley is a free warranty job and it looks like your bike has the original on it (I'm a Service Lead in a Trek store).
@EvansMTBSagaАй бұрын
So I can take it in to a Trek dealer and they will replace the upper pulley?

@SpencerBaumАй бұрын
@@EvansMTBSagathey should be able to add the appropriate spacers to fix the issue
@davew782Ай бұрын
@@EvansMTBSagathey should - we pro actively put warranty claims in for the pulley wheels then called customers when we had them (whether they'd had issues or not). Don't know where you bought yours from but they should really have done this prior to sale. Get them to check the lower guide is correctly shimmed for your rear mech too - Trek issued a Service Bulletin and moving the shims is a 2 minute job (Transmission drivetrains effectively have a wider chain line so need the guide shimmed out).. From experience it's probably okay because they seemed to all be set up for Transmission and non T Type bikes suffered dropped chains.
