Kenny is THE best drum tech I know of. I couldn't have thought of a better tech for this video! Well done, Evans!

You are too kind. Please share away with your fellow drummers and keep learning.

For the average drummer heads can last a long time, but I have found that on tour snare heads last about 2-3 shows before they are sonically toast, and tom heads about four shows before they are sonically toast.

Great! thanks, this works excellent for me, I have that same snare but the narrower model.

I just got a heavyweight head and installed it on my stock PDP snare. I stretched it before it was tight as directed not to do in this video. Now I have this really bad whining overtone from the batter side. Did I ruin my new head?

I keeping playing the heads til they break. Im not gonna change a head each time i see a bit of the coating coming off or whatever.
@ClosedLoopMusic4 жыл бұрын
right, but for the people he sets up drums for , they are either sponsored by drum companies and get free heads OR they are rich as fuck and can afford to change the head out as often as they want. Id do the same thing if i had the money/free heads

@@ClosedLoopMusic I don't think he cares about cost, it's a hassle. He just doesn't care to change it until it breaks. No rules for some artist and it works. Not for all.

Whats the average break-in period before tuning on new snare heads?

The only reason I watched this video was to figure out how to deal with the lugs by the snare beds in the shell. You brought it up twice and said you’ll get to that and make it nice so I was happy about that until the video ended without me hearing what to do about that. Did I miss something?

Good tuto but plagued with an unfortunate background drum beat noise that makes it difficult to hear important subtle tuning sound low level details.

NOOOO!!! The logo has to line up with the badge! The birds will fall out of the sky.

I know, right? Even though Evans heads aren't my favorite, it's still a phenomenal instructional video.

Glad you enjoyed the video. Might be time to try some of our new heads.

+Evans Drumheads Which of your double ply tom batters have the most open tone? I'd imagine the G2 clears. I had EC2s, but they didn't sound open enough to me. What would you recommend?
@hrb418018 жыл бұрын
G2 clears or coated over g1 clears give lots of tone

Oh no. But it's aligned with the center tension rod? I may not have aligned the bottom logo though. 😂my bad. I know that drives some drummers nuts, and I do like to keep my drummers happy. 😆

I mean, need to wipe the Hoop, not the drum housing, that's where all the garbage! Sorry for my English, I use online translator

During the making of the video we wiped everything, but good point.

So it not a good idea to seat the head?
@Hontonoki6 жыл бұрын
he meant you should have it under decent tension first. otherwise if you seat it before it's tight enough, you risk damaging and wrinkling the head
