Thanks for sharing this info; in the same spirit of sharing, I will present another possible source of a leak. My 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 (also Chevy Silverado) developed a 'small leak' problem, which was caused by the top of the fuel module rusting completely through! You can literally see several tiny pin holes in the thin steel top, not to mention the rusted large hose connector that easily broke-off when I tried to disconnect it. I removed the bed (8 screws & 3 connectors) to gain access to the top of the tank, replacing the 145,000 + mile original module with a new AC-Delco OEM unit. New pump, pressure sensor, level sender, everything. Being a GM in Indiana has resulted in a good bit of rust trouble, including the rear brake line, the fuel module & the body. The top of the fuel tank collects dirt & sand & never gets cleaned. If you have an EVAP system leak you can't seem to find, you may check the fuel module or however lines & the pressure sensor connect to the tank. Cheers! DD

Nice job man, I just found a similar issue on my 2001 mustang, I had the rear end built, with gears, welded and trued tubes, a nice cobra limited slip, moser axels, and a moser cover, that cover, is the same as ford racing cover, or many other cast aluminum covers, it has a sharp edge that sliced the evap line, that hose sits right in the differential valley, the new girdle sliced right into the line, bet many who have a built rear end have the same issue, evap leaks are a pain, even with a smoke machine and a bi directional high end scanner, good job fining the leak you had. And finding it, they are a pain to find.

Bravo! Love when we/ you follow up. There are many videos that leave us hanging. I am your 400th like, and I subscribed, mostly because you're a natural at this.. I'm chasing my 455 on a 2003 VW Passat. After changing a 30 dollar part, and the light came back on... and then replacing the fuel cap, of which the SLANT brand did not solve it either. What Slant did was make it very hard to open as its a shitty brand fix. No way could a lady open her fuel cap, period. So I will be putting fresh batteries in my flashlight and get down under... Thank You.

I’ve got 93 ranger that nobody will touch because it’s older with an EVAP leak won’t pass smog. I guess it can’t be plugged in to tell what’s wrong with it. I’ve got one guy told me if it didn’t need some pressure test on it that he night be able to fix it. You didn’t seen to run and pressure test. Am I getting the run around. Is it old enough that a code can’t be gotten on it?

Replaced my canister purge valve and for some reason after my vehicle warms up and I turn the key and I am getting this gurgling noise coming out of the fuel pump area by the way new fuel pump.... If I cycle the fuel pump about 10 times the gurgling noise goes away and my vehicle will start.... It only does this when I drive to the store the vehicle sits while I'm in the store I come back out and I have the gurgling noise coming from the fuel pump area

let your peeps know disconnecting the battery can make the check engine light go away, but it still won't pass emissions inspection, it just causes "Not Ready" codes, and that makes the computer at the inspection shop spit out a "fail", can't take a "fail" to the court house for new registration tags...damned gubmint!!

Yea its not it will only make your gas mph go down in other words your gas vapors will easily leak out and you would be spending alot of money on gas than you normally would which to me is very mandatory I'm having the same problem with my 2008 chevy impala.
