In 2000 I started meeting a lot of Albanians who had come to England. I loved their warmth and hospitality. I quickly learned their language and in 2003 I went to Tirana for a short holiday. I loved it so much I didn't want to go home. In 2004 I sold my house, left England, and came to live in Tirana. I love it so much! I could never go back to living in England again. @@x-men6177 Albania is not a muslim country. Albanians have inherited four religions but most Albanians don't practise religion. During the communist regime Albanians were not allowed to use religion. Nowadays just a few may follow religious practices.

I dont think shes poor. Depends on how u define poor. Perhaps shes having her life full of contentment, simplicity, natural food, clean air, a home that looked so warm n cosy and welcoming as soon as she opens the door..just like her beautiful heart.. her life so rich, that she felt the need to give what she have, to travellers like eva or anyone who passes by...🥰

Don't know is she is poor in wealth but boy she has such a big heart. Perhaps you reminded her, her own children.. When she came to tack you up to bed I felt so emotional!! That was so sweet! Even though you couldn't talk to each other properly she was talking to you with her heart. I fell graced that there are people with such a big heart! Stay strong Eve...

I always get confused when people call these type of people poor, where most of the western world earns more but cost of life is so much higher. Wether you rent or pay a mortgage most of them own nothing. This lady owns land so technically she’s worth more than a lot of people

In Albania we have an honor system called Besa, going back hundreds of years when the region was divided into tribes. One of the rules is that you always have a bed made in your house to welcome any guest or traveler that needs it. It is the reason why Albania is the only country in Europe to have had more Jews at the end of WW2 as opposed to when it started
