Awesome, as a former USAF Class Room Instructor for my career field, your style should be taught as part of every Instructor's curriculum before they are allowed to teach a class. Bravo. Now I need to get some for my 2020 Y. I think turning the front wheels gives better access to those pins.

Great video. Mudflaps are always the way to go. Saves your paint from dings and scratches. I always tell people that if you see mud being splattered behind your wheels then you are kicking up stones as well.

Those mudflaps have a hollow pocket on the side the dirt hits. Great dirt collector. Question: the underside of the bottom cover at the back of the car appeared to be missing a lot of screws. Was there a design change or was this an oversight?

Reading some of these comments, sounds like taking out those machine screws can be a nightmare with the nut it screws into comes loose or breaks off and the bolt just spins and can't completely take it off. Not sure I want to try this on my new Model Y. Have to think about this modification. take care.
@evdave528 Жыл бұрын
When you put a metal machine screw in plastic you need to help the screw back out using a flat screwdriver

Back 10mm screw for the mud flap was loosen halfway, and won't come out or can be tighten back. Do you know how to get the screw off then tight it back? Thanks.

While backing up to a curb to unload my dog with bad hips, I knocked one of the rear mud flaps off and broke the plastic pins. Is there a source for getting replacement pins, as I don’t recall the brand of flap I purchased 3 years ago for my ‘20 Y? Thanks!

Try a small screwdriver with 1/8” blade and find the indentation on the plug and carefully pry the locking pin up

Ray, assuming you mean the 10 mm bolt, if you choose the abstract ocean kit, use the split tool behind the bolt to give it outward pressure and unscrew it counter clockwise
@wintersportlife2 жыл бұрын
I have difficulty to remove the screw on the bottom. It only half way out and spinning. Anyway to take it out ?
@evdave5282 жыл бұрын
Put downward pressure using the split tool while you unscrew the bolt that helps and do not over tighten it when you put it back in just nice and snug
@wintersportlife2 жыл бұрын
I tried it and it didn’t work. I believe there’s threads lock on the screw. I

Definitely bolts missing on the rear pan. Would there be any reason for the shop in Atlanta to remove them when they did the work on the car?

HELP: while removing the machine screw the retaining clip or bolt inside became undone so now I have a bolt that won't come all the way out and can't be tightened back up either. I've ruined my wife's new Model Y, can anyone help me figure out how to get to the retaining bolt or clip on the driver side rear for that bolt, please?
@tarab.94012 жыл бұрын
Were you able to figure it out? Same thing is happening on my Y.
@barryscott71752 жыл бұрын
@@tarab.9401 Yes, it wasn't too hard: The wheel well liner is flexible, I removed three of the plastic retainers and pulled the grey wheel well liner up and out of the way and with a flashlight I could actually see the nut that had become un-welded. I had to go buy a long nosed pair of vice-grips $10 and was able to lock them onto the nut back in there and then use the 10mm wrench to retighten the bolt from underneath. It was making me crazy, but I figured it out.
@tarab.94012 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your response. Now let’s see we can figure it out. :)

@tomsekerchak21763 жыл бұрын
The screw for me was going in grudgingly. I saw videos and read responders said they had the same problem. When backing the screw out or putting it in, remove or screw in part way, reverse your tightening or loosening part way, spray with WD-40 and then continue with the process.
