The 'Challenge' was the hunting, the maneuvering, the jockeying for position and they psychology involved in getting a hostile fleet engaged. That's half the game, but I cut it out because it's typically an hour of warping about before the action actually starts.

Of course you know I was somewhat heavily involved in advertising and funding that event, so you might argue that this was another amazing example of goon metagaming. But then you see me opening the link in the video, thereby proving that if anything it was unintentional.

There are L4's the are doable by a newbie in a frigate - Recon 1 & 2 are possible in a frigate. But yeah your average newbie isn't doing level 4 combat missions in 2 weeks. They are however able to get into PVP on day one, the fight at the end initially started out with a CFC newbie fleet, it just escalated to a major Capital slugfest.

Bel, what you're seeing here is not a typical day in EVE. Battles of this size can at times take weeks of planning. 3,200 person matches are epic battles compared to the smaller sized fleets battles that occur. Small group and roaming skirmishes is the real adrenalin rush and where a lot of people spend their fight time. There's 10 years worth of footage here on KZbin, go ahead and check out some other videos or even get the trial game. It's definitely in a league of it's own. Cheers!

If you play EvE you would know how "bombers" work in space. They are fired from a launcher with force and in a vacuum they will obviously continue in the direction fired. They are called bombs because unlike missiles they cannot lock onto their target. They fly in a straight line for a predetermined period of time then explode.
@ODST_Parker11 жыл бұрын
Well, I had fun during the trial, flying solo in my Caldari Destroyer, but after seeing this, I know I'll never be able to commit to the game enough to be part of a group like this. The fact that releasing this video on KZbin could give your enemies more information is amazing to me, and the fact that both sides can field so many ships, each for a very specific purpose, just astounds me. I think I'll stick to Star Trek Online unless God blesses me with all the money and time in the world.

Frigates are viable in every fight, though they may not do much damage on targets they can hold points on all ships besides Supercarriers. Meaning they can hold the ship there and it is unlikely able to outrun you while your friends in the ships with more damage kill them.

It's complex as fuck. This war he took part in culminated in the biggest battle in any game ever 9 days ago. Over 4000 players were present in the system 6VDT and the battle lasted for almost 6 hours because the devs slowed time to 10% normal speed to handle all the input. As a result, the Fountain region fell to CFC, with TEST losing all 62 remaining systems over the last few days as they retreated to Delve region. And all this happened because of players. No devs involved.

Hey Scott, I though warp bubbles could just be deployed by any ship that has enough cargo space? Don't the larger ones need to be deployed by battleships/cargo ships due to their large sizes? Interdictors provide a mobile bubble that follows them around, or a directed beam of warp jamming goodness.

Epic Mega fleet. Do you Bomber's Bar / sunday special? That Nyx loss has the added benefit of lagging people out of the game; especially during highly TD'd operations. The sheer number of people on it eats all of the RAM and you crash out. In theory a denial of service exploit. ;P

*11 days Everything that happens in this game is player-controlled. All ships, weapons, etc are produced by players. Empires rise and fall in this game all the time. It's fucking awesome. But it takes at least a year to reach a point where you are actually capable to take part in the big stuff. Maybe even 2 years. BUT! You don't have to do any of that. You can run missions, you can go mining, you can produce goods, etc. It's a sandbox game, after all.

In copmarsion to other PVP oriented alliances in EVE Goonswarm is the one known to reqruit every pilot that can fly rifter. So basically you can find a corporation for yourself if not in the Goonswarm Federation but in the CFC. You don't really just join an alliance like that from day 1. They are not just like clans in other games, it's more involved than that. Your first week or so should consist of just getting used to the game, doing all the tutorial missions and talking to people in the Help channel, exploring the market, universe and figuring out how equipping ships and stuff works. Then you can open up the pandoras gate of dealing with player corporations & alliances :)
@VTOLAircraftMad11 жыл бұрын
considering he did say bomber PLANES: -you mean atmosphere, not field of gravity? -mines are occasionally dropped by bomber planes -so, a bomb is only a bomb if its a missile or a shell, instead of just being a bomb? but, the thing is that he never said bomber PLANES, instead he said stealth bombers, which are characterised by being frigate-sized ships, with bad defences, but a cloak and the ability to launch torps and bombs

Megas have more tank and no big resist hole and more drone shit The Rokhs have more DPS and range and a giant EM resist hole but also have real good resists against hybrids so it might seem the rokhs are better but the CFC kinda blob the rokhs to death so all those benefits don't matter at all.

Effort, yes. Money, no. If you invest a reasonable amount of time, you can get easily get thrice the amount of ISK needed for a PLEX. That's one of the interesting things about this game: You can buy playtime with ingame currency. Which also leads to anything ingame having a value in real life. People have lost ships with thousands of dollars/euros in them.
@HuntingTarg8 жыл бұрын
not really 'in' them; most of the time its just a measure of real-world equivalent value in time and effort. The only tunnels between ISK and real-world currencies are PLEX (which everyone uses) and ADP (which nobody but the fecklessly affluent use).
