It's complicated at first but comes easy with some time. We have a lot of new player corps and communities who are always recruiting. Brave Newbies, Pandemic Horde, and Karmafleet are all large options. Smaller ones exist all over the place also. If you ever want to give it a shot, my own corp Bovril is always open too. :)

I don't play anymore, but indeed : find a newbro corporation (guild) and they will teach you. That's the best way to get into the game. Not only is it easier to start, but you learn much faster. Most older players will have the funds to give you ships and items you may require too. Just for your gaming culture you have to try it for a bit.

Everytime this ad showed up I just didnt skip it. First time I saw this was like a year or two ago, and I randomly remembered it today so I searched it up to watch it again. The music, visuals, the female voiceover and the simplicity of it (in contrast to the extreme complexity of the game) are cinematically stunning to me. the game does not require you to be smart at all, it requires patience and determination in most cases. just because you may not be smart, doesn't mean you can't learn the game. at first it may seem messy and scary, but it's actually quite forgiving if you are good and polite. people are glad to help newcomers and people who come back. it may take some learning, that i can agree with, but it's not as hard as people say. - from a fairly new, but still average player

That’s not true. I play probably 5 hours a week and still have a blast and do what I enjoy in the game. Still okay plenty of other games too. Just don’t join a mega hardcore alliance or try to run a corporation… any game can be a job or casual. Skills train while you’re offline so you don’t even fall behind if you don’t play.

Just passed my official ten years in EvE a few days ago. This is my second life, and yes, I have a healthy real life, gym and fitness, work which I am very successful in, relationships, you name it. But I love this universe so much, it's such a part of my life that I make time for it nearly every day. I am a member of a major Coalition and experienced combat pilot. You HAVE to find others to fly with to be truely successful in this game. EvE is a community, that's what makes it so powerful.

Been playing this game off and on for 10 years now. Hard to believe! I still play games with and have even met a few times in person with a guy I met in my first Corp a week into the game. EVE is truly unique and something everyone should experience. Just remember, it’s a social game and the players make the content so if you don’t do anything then nothing happens and you won’t enjoy the game. Get out there and mingle! Don’t be afraid to ask questions!

and don't be afraid to fight, you might lose most of your first battles, but you'll get better at selecting targets and ofc your toon will also grow in skills, but when you kill all the time without dying yourself, pvp can get boring...but luckily it takes years to reach that level of gud.

@@NcrXnbi I never got too far into trading honestly. I mostly used industrial ships and cargo freighters to move my own stashes of items around. There are a ton of videos about it on KZbin though if you just search for it.

@@waynehieatt5962 It takes years to reach that level of "gud" because you are waiting on a countdown timer the entire time. People joke about EVE being a spreadsheet simulator, but it's also a stopwatch simulator.

@@phillipnunya6793 yeah the alpha (f2p) clones training queue is limited to 24hrs, so you have to set your alarm if you don't want any gaps in your training. But the subscriber omega clones have unlimited time, but a limit of 50 skills (I've had mine up to over 400 days). It certainly takes years to train your toon to git gud, but also takes years of experience to git yourself gud too. That;s one of the unique things about eve, and why we are long term players. Met a guy the other day who's toon was born in 2003, and he's been playing daily every since (and he was gooood, luckily he was on my side).

What is not well covered in this video is more about “the community”. While outsiders see it as toxic in-game, it is actually a very kind and generous group of players out-of-game. We have donated to international charities, including Children’s hospitals. We often get together and ‘drink with our enemies’ at player gatherings. We even have a very active anti-suicide movement (B4R) where players can discuss life’s issues without being trolled. The players help the company shape the game in ways the company CCP could not have planned alone. The only times where I actually got interested by the Ad, Seeing the comment section briefly seems like It's an old game (crazy how I've never heard of it, and I like Space theme things) I want to try the game after seeing the Ad and this Trailer now. Though, People seems to suggest how convoluted the game is (and also having to spend some time on it) so I'm not sure if I'm going to stay playing this game But, I'll give it a try and see it for Myself. Also gotta say, the Trailer and Ad was fantastic to see and watch. And while also liking Space themed things, it was one of the best thing I see for a while. Props to You and the people behind it. for new players, i suggest doing the 5 tutorial mission/agents then aim for the "magic 14 skills" and get ultra rich so you'll have purpose playing, how you get there will be up to you, do missions, fight, trade, industry, resource gathering, or ask for ist(isk). Eve is massive so take it slowly, start small. learn inch by inch and youll start to like to the point that you cant get enough of it. play with friends or solo, do whatever playstyle you want whether its zen spreadsheet monitoring or hardcore excel quantum calculus. o7

There’s just nothing else out there quite like EVE, and much of that comes down to the people. The single-shard sandbox environment has fostered a unique communal web of relationships that is always evolving. What one person does in EVE can potentially affect hundreds or even thousands of others at some point, simply due to the nature of the sandbox. You just cannot get this in other MMOs that separate players into multiple shards. In EVE we are all connected.
