Could be great as an alternative to certain wreck looting. Imagine whenever a supercapital got destroyed in Eve, you couldn't loot it like normal from space, but instead it created an instance in Vanguard for people to locate and loot certain components and/or rare modules. Would create incentives for corps to have branches in Vanguard and make the stakes very high in terms of real world value.

@@in_faustianwinter It was very very limited due to the PS3 at the time, so it could only handle BF2 style gamemodes, but it was a very fun and nice RPG experience. It had a 'ark survival' sort of equipment system, stuff you lose, you actually lose, but items are cheap to replenish and is plentiful, if you do well you can even 'loot' a tank off of your enemies to customize and deploy for your own (only to have it destroyed or spent after deploying it). They had a MTX system for this though so P2W can literally buy their way if they wanted to, but they needed the skill points and levels to do so effectively, but otherwise ends up being a 'cash cow' for skilled players to target and loot as any item you bring into battle can be lost and is a valid 'loot' pool reward. If someone has a loadout for 50x suits/weapons/gear and died 50 times, then the loot pool will randomize gained a lot of that into it. If you use 'stock' stuff from preset loadout (given for free but lowest stats) then it doesn't get added to the pool. The better your 'gameplay' scoring the more looting 'rights' you have to the pool.

​@edzbienen expanding to console is one of the best ways to expand the Eve community. Right now the community is so niche (almost inbred) no growth. If you do not want to see your game close down eventually due to lack of a large compatible player base then of if you want to see the game improve in anyways you need to grow the player base. It's intended to expand into the bigger wars later down the line, it's supposed to do so organically instead of just being some mode you load into. Also, the extraction "looter shooter" gameplay fits EVE perfectly; it's a cutthroat fight over resources where trust is always put into question, which is exactly what EVE is.

This is pretty interesting since if its a module, it does mean it IS a separate game from EVE Online, as the latter is not a UE5 game, but it would be a gamemode attached to EVE Online and runs as a separate client. So in a sense you could play EVE Online and EVE Vanguard at the same time if you wanted to?

Ironically an extraction shooter is a perfect fit for the EVE format. Just like the MMO, you die you lose everything that was on you at the time, while doing missions that influence Faction Warfare and reward you with cash.

@@HUNKtm Vanguard a l'air très "barebone" présentement. Je sais que c'est early access, mais si ce que nous voyons représente le 1/5 de ce que le jeu sera, c'est terminé. Le truc c'est que y'a plusieurs extraction shooter qui vont bientôt sortir, même Bungie fait Marathon. Donc je ne suis pas convaincu que c'est la formule gagnante... Surtout si on se promène dans une petite map où il n'y a absolument rien de dynamique (intéraction avec la map, détails dans le background, changement dynamique de l'environment, features comme une extraction animé, ou un drop pod en début de game). Bref le jeu manque de "wow" et de présentation. Ambience cool, mais peu d'éléments. Un DUST 514 qui sortirait aujourd'hui se ferait très probablement remarquer assez vite. Les gens de Battlefield seraient intrigué, les gens de CODs chercheraient quelque chose de nouveau et PlanetSide... Bah y'a rien qui y passe près donc c'est sur que les joueurs iraient essayer le jeu.

It was done before in dust 514. Players on ps3 could join eve corps in the mmo and fight for planets while people on PC could provide air support from space with special modules. So both pc and ps3 were working in tandem to secure resources for an alliance or Corp.

I think they needed to redo dust 514. We a have too many extraction shooters and on top of that battlefield fans and even cod fans aren't that happy with their games. What if you can insert vanguards into an enemy's ship so you can start adding ewar debuffs inside of it by causing havok and killing the security forces inside of it. Like the ship's capacitor starts dying out, locking becomes slower and all sorts of sabotage, and once the ship gets blownup in universe you extract via mini personal jump drives or something fancy like that.

This game is a vomit piece move to appease shareholders for more investment money. They balance out, the game project folds and they do it again if necessary. This game will never see the light of day. It’s a golden fleece for shareholders. Hilmar is short sighted. Dust 514 is a goldmine that they had no clue what to do with.
